Nice setup Gordon. Those Lithium deep cycle batteries look really good - but they're expensive! I've got an AGM Lead/Acid battery for my caravan solar set up. That's better than a wet cell but not as good as a Lithium.
It's just easier a bit easier on the 12V battery when you're using an inverter. The EC6001 will pull a lot more current out of the 12V battery - which means it will flatten faster and maybe won't be able to supply the current needed if it is a bit old.
What we really need is a 12V Shimano...
Yeah it's something you do with care! But I still reckon there's a use for a slower 12V charger which draws less current. I can see this being useful in my solar situation or maybe on the drive to the bike park.
Sounds like a good plan. I have an off-grid caravan with a solar panel and battery setup. The solar panel helps keep the battery charged up and it helps the 12V battery keep up with the bike battery charging on a sunny day. But it's more of a one-off thing.
Well the deep cycle battery technically has more power available than the Li Ion (12V at say 120Ah = 1440 Wh vs say 500 Wh for the bike battery). But then you run into issues around deep discharge of a lead acid battery which will kill it eventually. So not easy. Maybe there is a case for slow...
Yes all those things. A fast charger will draw way too much current for the standard cigarette lighter ports (or whatever they call them now) which are usually rated for around 10A. And you'd need a good car battery to stand up to the high current drain if you used another connection method to...
Hi. Welcome to the forum. Nice bike! I’ve got a non-motorised Giant Trance (which I don’t use much anymore LOL). You’re in a fantastic part of the country for an EMTB!
You’re going to love it - and I’m picking you’ll have another one before too long. I bought a Merida Eone Sixty and my wife...
These types of devices are notoriously difficult to test/develop as so much depends on the dynamics of the impact. One crash will trigger it and one won’t. I’ve done some testing of fall detection devices, which use similar principles, and same deal there. It all depends on how you fall. Can you...
Some safety devices have a “Man down” capability which is not triggered by an impact but rather when the device is horizontal and motionless. These are designed to be worn on your clothes somewhere. You just need to remember to turn it off when you have a kip after lunch :)
It’s interesting that Merida has dropped the Reverb on the latest Eone sixty 10 K and uses the Merida Expert post - which l think is the TranzX post and the same as the Brand X posts from Chain Reaction Cycles (which get really good reviews). You can fit another lever. See this post
Eone Sixty...
You could try “Forget this device” or Unpair in your device Bluetooth settings, depending on whether you are using Apple or Android, and then reconnect.
There are some FAQs here

Good news. It did sound as if the battery was not connected somehow. I’ve had no problems with the app. Don’t agree that it’s old tech. If anything, the PC is older tech but I guess it doesn’t have the Bluetooth step. Pair via the app and you should be OK - and don’t forget the passcode...
Sounds like you may have several problems. Maybe you have a bad battery connection. Stating the obvious - make sure your battery is charged. Double check the battery connectors are clean and secure and cables to the display are plugged in properly.
If the app is asking you for the passcode -...
All fixed. I removed the seatpost, trimmed the inner cable at seat post end to remove jagged wires and to square it off, pulled out the inner, cleaned it and lubed it with Inox MX5 (best for cables so they say), trimmed the outer cable to match the amount cut off the inner and then reinstalled...
