so I believe. Bit like running your car engine up hill just above tick over in a tall gear. It’s not as efficient as getting the revs up. Probably puts more load on internal gears and clutches
yes good shout.
I like to work a bit so often have the motor off or in eco. I use turbo a couple of times a ride though.
my rides are usually 25 to 30 miles with about 2500ft of climbing nearly all off road natural trails round woods and Dartmoor.bike is coming up to one year old and 2400 miles...
2150 miles on my SL. totally reliable so far and the only thing that’s worn out is brake pads. Still on original cassette and chain ring (Been using two chains rotated every 200 miles or so). Absolutely love the bike.
Says in the manual to clean and lube under the collar every month . Surly they don’t expect us to take it to the shop for that doing. I’d argue over that.
ps. Done mine this morning and feels much smoother. It had started to be reluctant to drop and also wasn’t fully extending if it was only...
Stripped my headset out today expecting the worst (over 1600 miles, 98%dry miles mind you)
and pleasantly surprised how well greased everything was, including copper slip on the thread for tensioning the headset!
If you haven’t had your front wheel spindle out yet I would check that too. Had bit of a job on getting mine out the other day and had to resort to tap with round bar from behind. Quite a bit of rust from bearings but oddly they feel smooth as smoth with no play. I’ll be taking the outer seals...
Ohhh brings back bad memories for me. Fractured skull and two blood clots.
thought I didn’t need a helmet on my very first mtb ride. I was used to riding motorcycles flat out and thought a pushbike was safe
I’ve only had the shifter and derailleur changed to SLX but still running the Nx cassette and chain. Rode a mates brand new acoustic stumpy with Nx throughout and the shifting was not as slick as mine. Very glad I changed.
I’m 58. Fit and healthy but was coming home from rides (usually 30 milers) absolutely knackered. I didn’t have the time or inclination to ride the hours and hours my riding buddies put in (most 10years plus younger) each week so I was always near my limit the whole ride. The SL has really...
Yes mate I’ve had the SL since beginning of March. 1300 miles and loved every minute.
it’s easy to pick up to get over fences or Put onto boot rack. I had a FF Levo on demo for three days but thought it was a bloody tank.
Thought it was a waste carting all that battery and motor around for...
