Id put a sticker over it. Frames are hugely overbuilt at the head tube/down tube bit anyway to cope with all forces involved so it wouldn't bother me too much.
But if you don’t want to do that a Carbon repair company would do it a lot cheaper than a new frame even at cost price
id be pissed...
I’ve just got some Brand X carbons bars from CRC and they seem good. I got the 25mm rise versions and they have a nice sweep and plenty wide enough and most importantly they dampen down the buzz nicely and didn’t cost a huge amount
After having my thumb reattached with wires and pins after a bad...
I got an entry level Vitus E-Sentier and initially I thought It was a bit harsh on the lumpy stuff but a set of Marzocchi Z2s and carbon bars plus going tubeless and dropping tyre pressures a bit made the world of difference to the ride. i Will probably get a full suss eventually for taking to...
And it continues. Upgraditus is setting in. Just ordered some Marzocchi Z2‘s to replace the Suntour things that came as standard. I hope they're as good as the old Z1’s I used to have on my old 5 Spot. I have very fond memories of those making splishy sploshy noises while being as plush as a...
You could get a spare battery. Maybe a little piggyback type thing or a full size spare. I appreciate it’s a cheap solution but it’d sort out your problem sharpish as It could be down to so many different things that you could be arsing about forever rather than just enjoying your rides
Or swap...
Covid can leave you feeling fatigued for months after you’ve had it even if generally you feel ok according to my wife (she’s a nurse so plenty of experience) so you might be using more battery life than normal to keep at your pre Covid pace. Or it could be battery degradation over time or if...
End caps on the hub the wrong way round possibly? They might be sided and fitted the wrong way round. It only takes a mm or two to screw things up and it’s not always visually obvious
ive no idea about the new Hope stuff but I’ve seen similar infuriating things over the years.
Mine got a new 11 speed SLX shifter and mech with an XT 11x42 cassette and chain. Much nicer all round than the 9speed Sunrace cassette with Alivio shifter/mech mix it had from new. Was relatively easy to fit too and the Shimano quick links are miles better than the joining pins they used to...
im 54. M’old...
cool is something young wippersnappers strive for. When you get older you realise it’s all bollocks and stop trying to be cool and that’s when you become really cool.
it’s always the rim tape when I’ve had this problem. I’ve been tubeless for years on my non E-bikes but on my new E-bike I’ve just stuck some Stans fluid in the tubes in a diy Slime tubes way. Reckoned the weight wasn’t such a big deal on an E-bike and just wanted the extra puncture protection...
