Sounds faulty then. On mine I connect it up and switch the bike on and then switch the pack on and then the pack turns itself off until the main is low and then powers up. is the bike up to date in the app?
On my Reign the energypack doesn’t cut in til the main batteries down to 20% then it powers on til it’s spent then cuts back to the main battery for the last 20%. connect it up and go ride and it should cut in when you get low
Just listened again and the higher pitched whining is the motor and the overun sound is normal. The crunchy sound is the same as mine when crud got behind the cover.
I never bothered removing the cranks I just loosened it off and gave it a rinse out and a spray with some silicon lube. Been fine...
The axle to crown measurements can vary on different makes of forks. But I’ve seen longer travel forks fitted to bikes made for shorter travel forks and it can give a “choppered out” look to the bike and can make the steering feel floppy and slow.

But 130mm travel might be a bit much on a hybrid bike. More MTB territory at that length. Marzocchi are owned by Fox and are Fox’s...
On a budget I’d recommend some Marzocchi z2’s. Can be found for a decent price if you look around and work well.
Merlin cycles have some good deals on Fox 32 forks at the moment and some RockShox forks as well
My two pence worth is pick a mainstream brand and motor system. And buy from a recommended reputable local shop that will support you if any problems do arise without having to travel for miles or faff about shipping the bike
Used to get it a lot round the forest but it seems to be getting less common now as more people are using them. if I do get a sarky comment I just giggle and ride away..
Bike wise not really just check everythings tight. Make sure you get all the bits with it with like the charger for the AXS gears and stuff and download the AXS app and the Bosch flow app for any adjustments you might need to do. My mrs got one in feb and it’s been sound. Enjoy!
