The swingarm is the same. Just the main triangle is different between sizes. As in top tube length and seat tube length and sometimes the head tube as well. The numbers don’t sound like much but they make a big difference to the overall size and feel of the bike.
The Giant size chart says a...
It won’t feel the same imo. A longer stem will just push you too far forward and don’t forget that you might not get the correct seat post insertion into the smaller frame to get the correct seat height so you’d be looking at a longer seat post with more setback and a longer stem.
Not a chance for that money. I’m not precious about bikes but no way I’d have that.
thats not what I’d call new. More ex display and damaged. Id want a fair chunk off list to have that
These look pretty good. Frame only option is nice to see. I reckon there’s a big market for that nowadays as loads of people have bikes with decent kit on already
Not tried the others. But I’ve got a Reign and it’s the comfiest bike I’ve had. Nearly sixty now and had back issues in the past but not had any problems with the Reign at all. Really comfy pootling along but also a beast in the rough.
only bike I’ve had in 25 years that didn’t need a single...
I’ve got both. a FS and a Vitus Sentier HT. The Sentier is better for commuting imo as it’s lighter and less conspicuous. less nobbly tyres and a Suntour NCX bouncy seatpost make it perfect for commuting to work and still ok off road
I was dubious about the seatpost but the NCX works really well...

Don’t get hung up over having a lockout. if you upgrade to a better quality fork with decent compression and rebound damping you’ll find that a lockout is really necessary.
itd be worth seeing if you can convert your hub to a 15mm through axle as most decent quality forks are though axl rather...
Check the chains routed correctly through the rear mech. There’s a little tab on the jockey wheel assembly that’s easy to miss.
then check the cable tension. Check the rear wheels done up tight and straight and check the mech hangers not bent.
don’t mess with the limit screws until you’ve...
Im seriously impressed with my Z2s. Lovely small bump sensitivity and they just eat up big hits time after time without losing composure or feeling like a wet noodle
they give up a few grams to the top line Fox and Rockshox offerings but on an E-Bike it makes sod all difference anyway and at...
Cash! I’m old and old fashioned and tight as a fishes arse!
after a lifetime of mortgages and crap I’m finally debt free and determined to stay that way
I should add to be mindful of bearings and GT85 as well. it can actually wash away any grease and kill pivot and hub and bottom bracket bearings pretty quick. The propellant in the aerosol is actually a solvent and will wash away any grease
if you don’t believe me smear some grease on something...
I only use it to de water the chain after using a chain cleaner and washing the degreaser off. it’s not a lubricant as such like oil as it evaporates and leaves a Teflon residue but it’s not long lasting and your drive train will wear out quicker than using proper chain lube
i lube the chain...
If you’ve got play it’s either frame bearings or shock eyelet bushings (normally the top one) if you pinch the top of the shock with your fingers and lift the back of the bike up and down you can feel the clunk if it’s the eyelet bushing. Same with the frame bearings. Hold the linkages and...
Mind you I’ve just checked the $ to £ exchange rate and it’s NZ $1.92 to the pound so not that much in it when you look at it like that
S’not a cheap sport if you want half decent kit unfortunately. not that it ever was. I paid £1500 for a Turner frame nearly 20 years ago and I’m still...
