Ok, It sounds as if there's more to differentiate Trail and Boost than just the amount of torque and assist. Can someone explain the difference, please? Use small words! ;-)
As I tried to explain before, the GPS is much less accurate and will produce shorter distances than the built-in bicycle computer. It will do okay with straight lines, but does very poorly on routes with a lot of twists and turns.
“ Acoustic“ isn’t really my favorite word, but it seems to be en vogue for words which are not ‘lectrified. I assume it relates to electric guitars and acoustic guitars. I prefer to think of them as technological have Nots!. Iassume it relates to electric guitars and acoustic guitars. I prefer...
Interesting. Is the bike pretty new? Are you comparing mileage with a GPS? That mileage is usually a lot shorter than the mileage from the bike computer which will be more accurate.
I don't think you understand the graph. The graph isn't of how much torque the motor is putting out, it's how much assistance it's giving. If the rider is putting out 10 Nm then the motor can give you 30 Nm (300% assist), but if the rider is giving 30 Nm the motor cannot give 90 Nm, because the...
I don't think there's anything funky about the way the power comes in, other than the fact that it doesn't seem to start until about 5 Nm or torque are detected. The graphs drop off because the users input increases after the motor has reached either the maximum output, or the maximum output...
Not sure what you mean by a range. Yes, I have to drive to get to any trails, but I'm fortunate enough to have 100 miles of so of trails withing 30 minutes of so of my house.
Ah, the danger of e-bikes that you don't hear about! It's easy to ride stuff a lot faster than you're used to, and sometimes faster than your skills are ready for!
Your guess is as good as mine. Assuming the motors sold for US use are the same as those sold for use in countries with the lower speed limit then it would seem logical that the warranty would be good, but if Shimano for some reason did not want to warranty a motor then they could use that as a...
Yep, bricked my computer as soon as I brought it home so couldn't ride all weekend. ST Unlocker is much more useful for tuning, and ST Ride is a good replacemote for Shimano's E-Ride app as well as for Strava. You do have to upload the GPX files into Strava manually, though.
