I just wanted to go on longer rides, be able to make it through rides and up hills without having to stop, and to be able to keep up with my mates! So far the experiment has been 100% successful.
Just as I am passed by the occasional push-bike on the trail. Fortunately I didn't buy my ebike to win races, but to enjoy riding more, and to enjoy more riding.
Ditto, I just have a couple of $30 lights from Amazon and they're still going strong after several years. I don't need an expensive light that only works with a Shimano system. Would still need a battery for the helmet light, anyway.
I believe there is an optional wiring harness for Shimano systems, but I don't know which lights it works with. I would rather have the Canyon's USB port, though, if given the choice.
A friend's new Trek had the shittiest paint job. I transported it with my own much older Trek on the same rack and the bar that touches the top tube rubbed through the paint in just a few trips. Same rack never affected the finish on my bike in 5 years.
When I took my first van camping trip to Florida last year I accidentally locked my keys, and my dog, in the van at a gas station. When I took a 5-week cross-country trip last spring I word a spare key on a string around my neck 24/7. You could do the same with your battery key.
I took advantage of the recent sale and ordered a Jackery 1000, which came yesterday. I was looking for a solution for charging my eBike on road trips, as well as general charging and powering other small devices. Looks like the Jackery is going to be a pip! Here's a link to the video I made...
