You could potentially dremel the edge of the lockring to expose more area to clamp the inner portion. You'd need a new lockring but it'd be cheaper than buying a new motor if Trek won't warranty it.
We discussed this a few posts earlier. You may need to take it in, motor might need to be taken apart or sent in unless there is some way that they can lock the motor that only tech's know about.. You can't cut it out as you have no access to the threaded area. Good luck. I'd bring it to...
Thanks, ur right, I forgot they loosened forward. I don't think you can even hack it off as you couldn't cut into the threaded area. He's gonna have to have that sent in to get serviced. Motor may have to get taken apart to do it.....unfortunately probably not a warranty thing since its user...
Not a jumper, but a big clyde. I do 3ft drops at most, on really rocky terrain. I can put out a ton of power, 1500w bursts on punchy climbs. I9 axles have been lasting about a year at most for me.
FWIW just had another I9 Hydra axle break, replaced easily under warranty. lucky thing with the broken axle is the hub still works with axle cracked. Showing some wear at the pawls but i9 replaces quickly.
I've actually ran single offset bushings on several bikes w/ bushing reversed to lengthen/steepen bike. None of them rotated into slackened position after years of use. I recently did this on my Rise at the lower shock mount when I went back to the stock shock but kept my front end over...
Fuel EXE has 16% progressivity and with an extended stroke, the end stroke is completely linear in the added travel. Leverage ratio at the end of travel is 2.16 so you would add 10.8mm of travel when you extend stroke 5mm. A Cane Creek Valt progressive spring would be a great option for this...
Made a few changes. Nobl TR35 Wheels w/ I9 Hydra Hubs & Hope 220/203 rotors. Absolute Black Super Steel Chainring/Spider 34t. Back to Fox Factory Suspension and a Chris King Dropset 2.. Just over 45lbs w/ pedals.
The Cheap off brand Chosen hub will def break, but with Emtb, they all will eventually. Just broke my second i9 Hydra axle. one in january of last year, and tonight I just pulled off the wheel to my rise and the Cassette fell off with axle #2 broken. I9 will have a new one out to me in a week...
I was actually in the market about to pull the trigger on a 9.8xt thats available locally. I wanted it to be my only bike due to its stealthiness and was gonna sell my Deviate Claymore, Rise H, and Orbea rallon. As a big guy, I need extenders for all my rides...use one on my Rise H every time...
I ride on really rocky trails and prefer the rougher line...it definitely helps in the rough stuff but not necessary if your terrain doesn't require it.
Tough to tell in pics what you’re referring to. It’s a carbon view color so you’ll have the layup of the carbon come through thru the metallic. What are the paint issues? Overspray, orange peel, Clearcoat?
Basic lower leg service w/Oil, Seals, Foam Rings, not air/damper cartridge rebuilds. I learned from reading the service guide then watching videos For both RS and Fox
