I tried a dh38 on mine, it made it dead, lifeless and the turning circle meant it was an immediate no.
Have an intend flash now, wouldn't bother with a dual crown ever again.
I'm hard on rear tyres too. Throw a conti on there, they last forever even in supersoft. I think it's still harder than maxterra, according to my very scientific pinch test.
I've got an entire season out of a conti rear tyre on my dh bike, that's never happened before!
Transmission is a real fussy barstard I found, nice when it's working well.
It seems crazy to me you can't individually tune gears too, someone from sram told me why that was but I'd had too many beers to remember now 😅
I've had mine move under super heavy compressions, just need to reset it...
I've got a swb t6, tbh any smaller than that wouldn't be as versatile.
It's awesome to daily drive. The transits are good too.
There's various bike rack setups that work. Rocky mounts are the shit if you need to take your front wheel off. I use a pair of Yakima highroad racks that are awesome...
Yeah I've raced my ebike a few times now. Really great challenge, I'm torn if I'd be faster on a normal enduro bike. Ebike is so planted through the roughs, but quite energy sapping to pump to get the most out of on longer stages.
Hey bro, I'll be in nelson next week with my Crestline if you wanna try it. Could be setup a bit small for you at 470 reach. But you'll get the idea. It's a proper rowdy machine.
The whole Crestline ownership experience has been great. I wouldn't worry they're not around the road...all bosch...
So I had some user induced issues with my dh bike yesterday. See attached pic 🤦♂️
So I did downhill laps with eebb all day, a dh fork makes a heap of sense on this 🤔 The difference in fore/aft stiffness between a single crown and dual is noticeable.
Bike is a genuine do it all machine!
As a serial upgrader of bikes, 10 months in how is the bike fairing? Well I can confidently confirm that I love this bike still and wouldn't change it for anything! In fact, I love the way it rides so much I tracked down a Crestline dh bike for the perfect 2 bike quiver!
Further changes I made...
I initially wound the pins in on my mallets, but figured it would wear the sole quicker (for ease of release) so put them back out. Absolutely mint now. Easy to get out, grip if I miss clipping in.
