I'm fairly set on getting one of these. But the only bikes in stock are all small. There was a Large on Ebay last week but it got snaffled up.
Coming from a Focus Jam2 ltd in large, it seems like a bit of a 'jump'. it's not like I'm uncomfortable on the Focus in the attack position.
I'm 178cm...
And Focus have already told me I have absolutely no warranty whatsoever on a bike that's less than six months old...
I took that risk buying used, but it's still pretty naff. I know specialized support warranty transfers - I have no idea about YT.
I'm still on the fence. I do know I've already...
Absolutely nothing... I just really fancy a YT decoy!
I'm still weighing up my options. I'm more addicted to the gnarly side of riding than I expected. Of course, another option is to stay put & upgrade the forks and shock.
Decisions decisions!
I've been riding my Jam2 plus pro a lot since I got it in March. I'm learning and pushing and it's been a hoot so far.
My riding has been a balance of local trails & bike parks. I'm starting to tackle bigger obstacles at higher speeds.
My Jam2 is completely stock, suspension wise, and I can't...
Are the forks difficult to swap?
Is there a guide somewhere as to which shocks are a straight swap?
I'm currently arguing with myself internally as to whether I upgrade bits on my Jam2 & add a TEC pack, or go for a more expensive new / nearly new bike (thinking YT Decoy or Kenevo).
Someone...
Loved the video. Almost as much as I loved the park!
It was seriously the most fun I've had on two wheels since I last took my Triumph on a trackday. Oddly, it had a trackday feel to it, but without the smell of petrol or the bother of warning up tyres.
A very kind gent named Stewart took me...
I also run those cheapo nukeproof pedals & they didn't come with any extra fittings.
Having read some horror stories about splintered shinbones from flat pedals in big accidents, I've invested in some leatt 3DF integrated knee / shin guards.
To date I've managed to avoid any serious injuries...
This is sat in my garage. 11 years old and still mint! Boardman team hardtail.
I suspect I'll come back to it once I've learned some skills. It's ridiculously light.
Feel free to laugh at my expense, but before starting the bleed procedure I noticed the span adjusters - I wound them in so there's far less travel before the pads move (and they're the finned pads so it's easy to see!) and the action is much more positive. All good for a morning at BPW tomorrow :)
During last night's ride, on a tarmac section, I noticed that my rear brake didn't have enough power to lock the rear wheel, even if I put all my weight over the handlebars.
Even with me off the bike and pushing, with the lever pulled almost right in, the wheel wouldn't lock.
Both levers feel...
I used to tackle some gnarly stuff on my boardman hardtail, and it would get through without touching - although I wasn't going through as quickly :D
My two 'go to' local trails are quite varied, but what catches me out are a few 'rooty' and 'rocky' crests that don't have a clear run up...
