So I'm a couple of weeks into E-sommet VR ownership, and I'm enjoying how the bike rides.
I was pretty shocked to see how bad the paintwork is on the frame though - especially the crossbar.
I'm not aggressive when it comes to cleaning. I use muc-off & a soft brush on the heavily soiled bits...
I was chatting regularly with the lad in charge of uplifts today, and apparently there were two guys on EBikes who hadn't paid to enter the park!
We saw them on the uplift road. One fella on a Vitus, the other on a haibike.
That takes 'cheating' to a whole new level...
The vitus (small frame) is quite a bit shorter than the Jam2 (large).
It also carries the weight differently - very centralised compared to the Jam2 which has cells all the way up the downtube.
I think it's a case of poor technique plus different physics - or that the Jam2 allowed me to write...
Ok, proper first impressions (from the uplift bus at BPW):
The suspension is incredible. I can actually feel the difference when dialling out high speed compression. I started the day with the settings it shipped with and it was way too harsh.
Gearchange is fine!
I think it's going to take me...
Just took it out for a very brief shakedown in the local woods.
First impressions: it's pretty nice. It's going to take a while to get used to the sizing. The cockpit feels cramped when sat pedalling. In the attack position it feels absolutely fine, easy to move weight back and forth. And I...
That's a stunning looking bike. But I'm not sure who it's aimed at.
That is what I think the future generations of e-bike will look like in the near future as cell energy density increases.
So I've pretty much got my E-sommet VR ready for it's first proper ride (bought from CRC).
I couldn't check the cassette lockring torque because I don't have the tool - it'll hopefully arrive tomorrow.
I spent a good 15 minutes checking the shifter operation on the workstand after reading...
Edit: Price drop. Just got made redundant :D
Price is firm. For £1900 I will include a brand new pair of maxxis minions (DHR & DHF) still in their packets.
If I'm going anywhere off road, I always wear a lid.
If I'm at a bike park, it's full face (fox proframe).
On-road, pootling, I rarely bother, unless it's on busy roads.
