Old thread, but why start a new one??
I'm also after a multitool. I have a Park Tool IB-2 which is very pretty and small, but also very fiddly to use. I do wonder if just having a concise set of normal allen keys is a better way to go? Or are there any multi tools that are actually good/a...
Ah yes, of course. What a great tip! I was flicking one gear, then doing the walk, then flicking another gear, then doing the walk etc. This way is easier.
Such a heavy bike though. An XL size too. I'll weigh it one of these days somehow, but I imagine it is pushing 27KG at least.
I watched a youtube video the other day on tips for eMTBs. Once of them seemed like a very clever idea, but perhaps I misunderstood.
You know when you have cycled partway up a hill, or have come to a stop at the bottom of a hill and you find you are in the wrong (high) gear? This tip was about...
I did my first proper ride at the weekend around Christmas Common. Pretty muddy, but great fun. I covered around 20-25 miles I think. Probably around 5 of those were errors of map reading, but on an eMTB, I just didn't care!
The best bit was the capability of the bike. Not sure my 25 PSI tyres...

Cheers
I've got something reasonably cheap arriving from Amazon today. Hopefully it'll work - a side entry (ooh err) and a 650ml bottle.
Fingers crossed.
(bladders are great, but I rarely finish them and they are a bit of a faff to clean)
At the moment I'm on 25 PSI ish in both the front and the rear (I'm around 80KG or so). Perhaps I could over inflate to 40 PSI and try some simple tests on the road to see how that affects things.
I suppose this could explain it, but I'm just a bit shocked as to how much of an effect. I'll try an concentrate more on it next time I am out. It feels more than just friction/weight to me. More like active, intentional drag.
A quick search revealed this page (Bosch E-bike Systems 2020 – The Gen 4 Motor is no longer a rumour!) that suggests as part of a review of the motor:-
"The motor has almost no internal resistance, which should eliminate the draggy feel of the previous model when pedalling above the 25km/h...
