    Can't believe I did that ..

I was eating my chocolate-covered flapjack when I suddenly coughed. Masticated flapjack went all over the chin-guard from the inside and dribbled down my chest. Some of it ricocheted onto my beard and lower face, up my nose and onto my lower face. One mouthful made a bit of a mess. :giggle:

What did you buy your ebike this week?

TFT have a spring calculator. I have no idea how good it is, but it is by TFT so it must be, at the very least, OK. https://www.tftuned.com/spring-calculator

    The wonders of logic

We have all heard of N=N+1 to describe how many bikes we need. I have also seen S=S-1, where S is the number of bikes you should have to avoid a divorce. I need a unified theory of bike ownership!

    Pic of the Day

Llys-y-Fran Country Park with my grandson. Look at how low the water level has gone! https://llys-y-fran.co.uk/llys-y-fran-cycling/ What you are looking at is the dam wall at the far end of a Y-shaped reservoir. Despite what the website says, it is not "difficult". It has one blackish...

    Chain longevity

I agree with the idea. A worn chain can do a lot of damage. It is a great idea if you normally get short chain life. but if you pay a bit more for your chains then they will last a lot longer (at least 2x and probably 3x). If you are a high mileage rider, then it is worth doing. But if you are...

    E150 motor

That is really good news about the Bosch motor warranty treatment. Contrast that with the really bad news about Shimano warranty treatment. In time, this will make a difference in Bosch's favour.

Tubeless is turning into a right faff

You say "valve removed". I assume that you mean just the valve core? (Not being pedantic, just wondering if I'm about to have yet another learning day). :giggle:

    Can I upgrade?

Go to the Rockshox spare parts catalogue for the year of your fork and look up the bits you need. They even list the upgrades available and what fits with what etc. Here is an example...

Who’s had a new knee and has it affected your riding?

My mate had a new knee and apart from being the most painful thing he'd ever had done to him he was like a new man within a couple of months. While still in bed they strapped him to what looked like half a recumbent bike. It powered his leg through a pedalling motion; the stroke was adjustable...

Turbo mode, how much do you use it?

When in Boost, do you have the Assistance Character turned up to 10? A slightly lower number, say 8, should make a difference that you will notice.

    Shimano EP801 is coming

My experience too, almost. Only one EP8 motor, but I can only hear the slight rattle under certain circumstances. I have had comments from other riders ("e" and non "e") about how quiet it is. My hearing too is not the best, reduced perception at certain frequencies.

Tubeless is turning into a right faff

Until I realised that not all sealants (see previous post) had bits in, I would have been totally puzzled by your post because your method uses an even thinner tube than the diameter of the volve core! Good point about letting the air out or to pre-squeeze the tyre to suck in the sealant. (y)

Tubeless is turning into a right faff

Brilliant! That makes total sense. Except why does my Continental Revo sealant that is latex have bits in it? Your reply implies that some (or even many) latex sealants don't have bits in them. The Conti Revo sealant is use is ammonia-free and does have bits in, so it appears to work in a...
