I have also seen S=S-1, where S is the number of bikes you should have to avoid a divorce.

With ur logic, I'm screwed.....I already have a Rise H15, Trek Rail 7, Orbea Rallon, Deviate Claymore, and Transition Spur....I have a Fox 34, 36, 38...all Grip2, a Yari, & a Zeb Ulti lying around...Now I need 5 more bikes .

This is dangerous. Could have scope creep. Spare tires laying around that need a wheel need a bike. How far can it go?
