My complaint with plus is only for front use. Wide low psi tires experience too much self steering due to the large contact patch for my taste. I prefer a narrower tire on a wide rim, I have landed on a 2.3 Vigilante on a 700c i35 rim as my personal sweet spot, which I feel gives me more precise...
I wasn't aware there was such a thing as "our drive system has NO certification for the australian and american market". There are so many "drive systems" sold here in the US from many different sources and I would wager none of them have ever said this or even thought about it. What they are...
There seems to be a problem comprehending this fact. Face it folks, the 21700 battery will not be retrofittable to integrated systems based on the 18650 cell.
The fire roads in Forest Park are way fun on an eBike also, climb up to Skyline and come zooming back down the pavé, too much fun. I just moved to the coast from Sauvie's, worked in the city and commuted on my eRoad Bike. PDX is a great place for eBikes.
i35 ChiBon rims, 700c front with a 2.3 and 650b rear with a 2.8.
I have never been a fan of the fatter tire in the front as I like a more Ginsu type steering and more contact patch in the back via the 2.8.
Regardless I run 1 bar on both ends with no flats or rim damage. Knock on wood.
Works best with a dt that goes straight out of the bb instead of the goose neck ones currently in favor. Other than getting good chainline it is a pretty easy setup.
I don't use them personally but the ones with the kit are cable type. Never really had a need for their function to date and I like to drag my rear brake lever slightly in tight situations and while timing my cranks to keep the PAS active via the amount of pressure I can maintain on the pedals...
I don't like them particularly. Cadence sensing is not the right format for mtb. I doubt the battery was 500amp probably 500wh. The TS is a far preferable motor if you plan on pedaling along. If not stick with the moto.
I use a TSDZ2 52v mid drive that has torque assist instead of cadence sensing which is key: They are available online and easy to install in a standard 68 or 73mm bb but this US based reseller has good rep and knows the TS as well as anyone: NEW VERSION 52v TSDZ2 - VLDC 5 w/ Throttle, E-brakes...
I'm a TuneUp fan myself. I'd start there. Say Hi to Dave-mo from Bigwheel.....
But quite frankly I don't think any of the manufactured bikes at this time are suitable for that area. I had my 1000w hub motor any road bike with me a few years ago when I was back in the area for PP40 and rode to...
My deal with running a 29" wheel up front is that contrary to popular opinion as I find wider low psi tires handle sluggishly to start and then too quick once the contact patch gets on angle, especially with the wider bars in favor these days. Self steering is a thing and many have become used...
While the mullet wheel system does work, I have used it for the last two years on my hardtail, the smaller diameter of the b+ wheel in the rear doesn't seem to be a good choice on an FS bike that potentially has pedal strike issues as it is. On the hardtail it doesn't really affect it.
Nice...
This ride drained my 52v 520wh battery on my any road bike.
Flat ground flat out pedaling in a 140" gear with no wind 1000w front hub motor, actually legal wattage here in the state of Oregon, but the speed not so much:devilish:.
Just in case here are the BMS spec's for a 48v 5A battery:
I would check this against the spec's for a Levo BMS, which is 36v granted but the parameters should be the same in regards to charging/discharging. The Levo BMS is set for a 18650 cell and I don't think that they would be compatible...
I assume they use the EU cutout? I have two homemade gravel bikes that are unrestricted and even if the Cairn's is set for speed pedelec it would lack power to assume that speed for very long and use a lot of battery while doing so even with a consistent human pedal input. No doubt that e drop...
Problem is not getting the cells, as you say they are available, it is getting the right ones and getting a pack made that will fit your situation. I guess you could make a pack using common you tube building practices. We did that and it works but it is a bit like a ticking time bomb.
Using...
"Acoustic is catching on."
Larry Pizzi has the patent on it. Gary Fisher got all excited about it on FB and Larry gave him the word. Not sure why but dino is my favorite.
I mainly ride where there isn't anyone. Problem solved.
But a few months ago I did get invited into a ride group and no one seems to mind and no jabs at my assist asset except for the occasional "I hate you" as I say "pardon me" while passing them walking their bike up some steep track in the...
I checked out that link to Holland Bikes, man there sure are a lot of different types of batteries! I still wonder how they manage them while in storage but I guess now that there was the one big instance at that one supplier having a major fire at their storage facility the bike industry will...
