Before rebuild: How fast? After rebuild: Not gonna!

Riding slowly through shallow water should be ok, so long as you avoid submerging the motor.

Muddy rides. To wash or not to wash?

I hose the wheels, forks, mudguards, chain and pedals and parts of the frame away from holes and bearings. I avoid the headset, motor crankshaft, cable entries to the frame and electrics. Lubricate the chain after cleaning to avoid rust. In winter I bring the bike inside the house to dry...

    Stolen! Orbea Wild 2023 -

A dog is one of the best theft deterrents - even a small dog that barks at strange noises.

Gen 4 Rebuild by with pics

Can owners tell whether the crankshaft bushes are significantly worn by feeling for movement in the crankshaft? Will the shaft move up/down by a millimeter or two?

Gen 4 Rebuild by with pics

Price seems very reasonable. Is that dirt that's in the motor or a combination of rust/grease?

do you buy an ebike to keep for a long time? or sell on before warranty runs out?

We've got bikes that are well suited to the riding we do so there's no need to waste money on a new bike, though I might be tempted if a killer deal comes along (at least 40% off). The Rise is light and nimble, great for general trail riding. The Stereo 120 is great for slugging up very steep...

What Full Fat with Removable Battery?

Cube is another option with the Bosch CX motor - Stereo Hybrid 140 or 160.

My Rise H15 frame is being replaced under warranty

What was wrong with the spindles? Can you post the pics here? How many miles has the bike done? The new frame does look good (y)

Fork upgrade 51mm offset to 44mm

Reducing offset increases trail and the wheel has more tendency to oversteer or flop into corners. It's a small change though that you'd quickly get used to, providing you don't feel that the bike is already oversteering in corners. I went from 51 to 44 on our Stereo 120 and the difference was...

Thinking of getting a H30 today opinions from owners please

I like my 2022 H30, 21kg as pictured (minus the bottle) and has had the standard EP8 firmware installed from new. For a reasonably light trail bike there's not really a better deal than a heavily discounted Rise H30. The only problem I've had was the unbranded rear hub failure - replace it...

Stock H15 rear hub is destroyed after 4 weeks

I'll only buy a new Orbea if I can get it at a massive discount because their warranty service is crap. They know those hubs are faulty so they should supply replacement parts without question.

    Front tyre for mud?

In sticky mud/clay the DHRII clears better than the DHF - I'm going to run DHR front and rear this winter, riding in red clay.

Servicing - what should I be checking and when?

And while the shock is disconnected you can move the rear triangle through its range of motion to check the bearings are moving freely; also turn the shock mount bearings to check they're not gritty/rusted. The most important job is to check the motor shaft seals and make sure they are still...

    Motor reliabilty

That's probably the case. I'd be complaining if I had a bad run with motors. Just find the best deal you can on a bike while there are deals to be had, keep water away from the motor and have fun.

Comment by 'Tony4wd' in article 'This is the new Focus Vam² SL - a short travel lightweight'

Raid the retirement fund for that second bike Knut :) I like having 2 bikes for different terrain; the Cube 120 is a bit tractor-like but it can climb steeper hills than the Rise.

    Cube CX powered, hardwork!

If you put the bike in 'Turbo' it should jump forward as soon as you start pressing on the pedals. I was out riding recently with my wife and a friend riding a cube stereo and a Reaction Pro, both CX powered, both in EMTB mode - they both ended up in the bushes caught out by the eagerness of the...

Would ep801 put you off buying a bike ?

imho the minimal rattle is one of those first world issues that gets more attention than it deserves. Power is fine unless you're riding long, steep uphills, then the Bosch CX can be more desirable. If you have health problems the extra CX power may be more desirable too. The CX has stronger...

    Which drivetrain?

I've found Shimano shifting easier to keep in tune. If you with AXS wireless shifting that advantage disappears though.
