Putting an emtb on a bike rack without the battery

I have a two-bike rack made for emtbs and fat bikes. It can take up to 60kg, it weighs 18kg. My mate has a similar 2-bike rack that is for ordinary bikes, it weighs 14kg. Soooo, weigh the rack! :) Not as good as asking the manufacturer, or finding a weight limit on a label, but better than nothing.

Bulge in the bead - reuse, fit a tube or replace?

@brw0513 Yep, it's goosed alright! Make a warranty claim and you should have no problem. In my pre-emtb days, I had two Continental Trail King tyres 27.5 x 2.2 that had bead failure one after the other at the same mileage and in almost the exact same place on the tyre. It was a manufacturing...

Long time rider, new to E-Bikes

@OzzyPT You may find, like I did, that because you are reducing the strain on your knees that they start to improve. That means walking and stairs will be easier too. :)

    Cheaper bikes? Place your bets

The UK gallon is 20% larger than the US Gallon, so it's really $5. That is still cheap of course! The UK gallon is currently at £1.48 per litre for E10 petrol, so £6.59 per UK gallon or $7.91/UK gallon. At $5 vs $7.91 US gas is "only" 37% cheaper than UK petrol. But I'm confident that the UK...

    Cheaper bikes? Place your bets

The headlines are about a VAT reduction, not removal. But if they did remove 20% VAT, then for well over £1000, many would be day tripping across the channel and doing their own imports. Like the booze cruises of old! A quick trip around a local mud pit and the bike would come back looking well...

Finding a Suitable Partner for a Friend

Not for me, I take great pleasure when my kids and grandkids achieve more than me. For one thing my elder daughter's success at work means that at some time in the future I will never have to worry about my care home fees! :ROFLMAO:

Afterwards, do what the medics tell you and look after the boys. Same day as the op I had sat around and kept my legs well apart. I also took the next day off from work and lazed around. The result was that I had zero problems. One of my workmates decided that his business meeting in another...

Levo Gen 3 Advice on Turbo Levo

@RJUK I accept that Specialized have what appears to be a "no shit warranty" when it comes to motors. Some proudly boast that they are on their 4th motor!! I would far rather have a motor that lasts a lot longer than months. Think of how you will feel riding on your 2nd motor. Will you be...

Something on paintwork after having brakes fitted

It could be an oily handprint, but it is probably some brake fluid spilled and not wiped off fast enough. Try car polish.

I'm new heren but old :)

Welcome to the Forum! :) 60 is not old! I felt like Superman at 63; I was fit, strong, flexible and fast. It only took 8 years to deteriorate to one out of four. Now I'm starting to feel old, but in my head I'm still a young sprog with much to learn. I wish I was a youthful 60 again!

    is it just me!!!!!

it's not just you! I will not buy a bike that does not have the "look back factor"! I mean that I cannot walk away from it without one last look back at it. Same with cars and women.
