    Knee Pain - Inner/Medial

I also use Volterol gel 2.32% (it's Diclofenac something or other). Rub a thumbnail sized lump on to the knee joint half an hour before riding. It's expensive but sooooo worth it. A tube lasts for ages because you don't need much. The 2.32% is for joints. They also make a half strength one for...

    Chainreactions sale

CRC asked me yesterday for customer service feedback. After years of giving 10/10 I gave them a six. They asked me why and I gave them both barrels. Nothing wrong with CRC, but my experience at the hands of EVRI ........ I told them that I would no longer have CRC as my first choice for bike...

    2019 Merida E160 900e Di2 question

@Lad Did you or the LBS use a mech hanger alignment tool? With a bang like that the hanger may have been slightly bent; not enough to see, but enough to have an effect. 11& 12 speed shifting is more sensitive to alignment. The tool is not cheap, but is very quick and easy to use, so LBS...

    Jam2 6.7 - from 29’’ to 27,5”

Unless you can get the bike computer to alter the wheel size setting, the assistance will cut out sooner because the bike thinks you are going faster than you are (more wheel rotations per mile). Your LBS may have to do the wheel size setting changes for you (check first if they can, before...

Dropper post clamp question on a Whyte e150rs

Just because the clamp can go to 14Nm does not mean that you should do so. The dropper post clap requirements must be followed unless you want it to have a short life. I would consider 6Nm a maximum.

    New year New location

I'm a bit struck with fitness at the moment Hobo, but it is well worth asking again come Spring. Its ages since I've been to Llandegla. If I recall correctly, Penmachno is quite close to Llandegla and well worth a trip for its more natural feel. Congratulations on your new move to a great mtb...

NEW BATTERY TECH COMING FOR E-BIKES?

You appear to know more than most. Can hydrogen be added to the existing gas supply and use existing burners? If pressurised tanks are added to the boot of an existing car, can hydrogen be burned in a petrol-engined car with minor mods to the engine? (A bit like LPG conversions).

What’s it with people walking and don’t move out the way in cycle lanes

When I had a bell, I very soon learned to start ringing it 100 yards away. It was surprising how close I could get before I got a reaction. Too many times the reaction was startlement, accusing looks and accusations of going too fast, being a boy racer (me! I'm 71 and with a white beard), or...

    Chainreactions sale

Of all the delivery services that I have experienced, the top value for money and performance appears to be Amazon. :) If only they didn't keep trying to ambush me into signing up to Prime on every purchase I make! I spend more time scrutinising their webpage to avoid the traps than I do...

    Chainreactions sale

For the avoidance of doubt, I do not blame the EVRI couriers (apart from the thieving and lazy ones that take advantage of the poor systems). The ones I have seen over the top of the hedge climbing into their vehicles, all appear to be at least human, even if deaf.

    Chainreactions sale

But CRC are using EVRI as the courier, who are totally crap. If I could give EVRI negative stars I would do so. Read the EVRI reviews and the press (truck loads dumped by the road side, parcels still addressed on sale at car boots etc). They lost two separate orders of mine; one large one small...

    Alps holiday recommendations

As a relatively recent newbie to mtb, I went to Portes Du Soleil in Jul'12. We started off on a "nice and easy blue to get our legs ready" after the long drive from the UK. That was a fortunate choice because I and others found them very difficult indeed. The third day a few of us diverted onto...

    New buyer advice

I have never ridden a hardtail emtb, but these pages have many riders saying that they soon get rid and buy a full suss. The extra weight does the HT experience no favours.
