I'm Northern and I like humour, but being Northern and liking humour doesn't automatically mean you are funny or get the tone right. The effect of this article is probably very different to what the author intended as it just propogates stereotypes and fuels anti-Ebike sentiment.
Ugh, I know the author David Gould says he loves Ebikes in the opening paragraph, but that is still one toxic and unconstructive article hidden beneath a thin veneer of 'humour'. The comments section is grim.
Hi guys will the standard Mudhugger 29" (Medium) fit an 18" Cube Stereo Hybrid 140 HPC series and do its job? I bought a Medium and not a Large and won't be able to return it if I try it first, so I am hoping someone can please put my mind at ease... because if I read the specs I am not...
FFS.. I ordered a "Mudhugger 29er" at my local store and it didn't say if it was a medium or large and it turns out its a damn medium which is designed for 29er hardtails. I take it I need the Large size for my Cube Stereo Hybrid 29er? :(
You can have 'similar' levels of workout... but the level of mental discipline needed not to flick to a higher level of assistance is probably too great for most people. :D
You aren't providing many useful details. How much range do you need per day? A 500w battery will still do a fair distance if you use the modes wisely. I got 47 miles from a 625w with 25% battery left when I got home which is pretty much equivalent to draining a 500w battery.
If you want the...
Hmm, that is a nice bike I would go for more travel than 120mm if you want some flexibility.

I was looking at the Whyte website and noticed this on the pecs page for the E180... E-180 RS
They only supply a 2A that charges the battery from 0-100 is 8.8 hours? Surely that's a typo... shouldn't it at least be supplied with the standard 4A charger on a high-end bike like this?
The Magura MT7's are good, but so are Shimano XT's. I love Shimano because as the "standard" they they are so easy to service and maintain wherever you are in the world. Magura seem to be a pain in the ass for many bike shops.
As for the rest of the spec on the Action Team, it's a step up in...
I would argue that Cube fit just right. I am 178cm with well proportioned limbs and the Medium fits me like a glove... in fact any bigger and it would be too big for me (I wouldn't be able to stand without it hitting my crotch).
I never rode the 160mm but so far the 140mm Action Team 2020 has...
It clearly seems to matter to some people due to the prejudices against ebikes that still existing in many biking communities... luckily I have no exposure to that but I was curious enough to ask the question. :)
I have seen and heard a few people saying it's better not to ride EMTB with people on acoustics as it's not fair and you will leave them behind etc etc... but so far for me this is nonsense and hasn't been a problem at all when I have gone riding with my (fitter) friend. My logic is:
You can...
I haven't ridden mine in a couple of months as the weather was too bad, but now that I have my EMTB at least it means I can give the acoustic to friend who want to join me for a ride.
Thanks for the replies Rob and confirming the weight! You are of course right, the specs on the Radon are better and more recent overall but the Cube is still great and definitely worth a mention! Plus the Radon is mail order only with no local dealer backup, so if it has any issues you have to...
Hi Rob, a couple of things:
1) You said the bike "is around 22KG"... this would be extremely impressive for an E-bike in this class and unfortunately it is not the case. The specifications are actually: "Total weight starting from 23,40 kg"...
Your helpful insight is always appreciated Zimmy! :)
EDIT - I ordered the Mudhugger 29er for the rear and the Crud XL for the front. Should be a big improvement over my current cheapie ones as I got a lot of spatters on my back and mud on my bike today!
Guys is the Mudhugger 29 THE BEST rear mudguard for 29'ers? Looking to buy something good today to stop my rucksack getting sprayed with mud.
Also for the front is the Crudcatcher XL the daddy?
