Help please, factory bike power levels question.

They mean a standard emtb as sold all over Europe. The 250W is an average, such that a 500Whr battery will last 2 hours. But if you use Boost everywhere, then you will exhaust your battery in much less than two hours. The 15.5mph limit is reference again to the EU limit of 25kph (15.5mph). I...

    Protection for bike

I have gone down the helicopter tape route. It is cheaper (lots cheaper), quicker and you can easily do it yourself. Then if you get any damage, it can be peeled off and some fresh stuff applied. You can apply several layers in the most at risk areas if you want. I have a handy guide to...

    Choosing a new E-Mtb.

You can never have too much bike! Is your daughter likely to grow out of her purpose-built bike and then you will have one for sale that you may struggle to sell. Good luck with your search. :)

Selling an emtb - no warranty

If I lived in the USA then I may share the views of the USA EV fans, but I live here in the UK. My comments about EV are not aimed at EV cars per se, but the infrastructure in the UK. The UK is not ready and will not be ready. It is OK in London and surrounding area, but there are simply not...

Tire Pressure - Does anyone ride higher pressures like they did in the dawn MTB

Those are the same pressure that I use, but I doubt that we have the same suspension set up, same tyres, same weight, ride similar trails..... and so forth. Am I agreeing/disagreeing with you? Dunno! :ROFLMAO:

Tire Pressure - Does anyone ride higher pressures like they did in the dawn MTB

@JHH you have seen the wide range of tyre pressures. Very few gave any indication of what tyre, what terrain, tubeless or not and so forth. I go with the lowest I can get away with that still gives a smooth ride, without tyre instability when cornering hard. Similar to @Mikerb, having found a...

Tire Pressure - Does anyone ride higher pressures like they did in the dawn MTB

I have experimented over the years and I know what works for me. I don't give much thought to what others ride with as they are different to me. My bike, suspension set up, tires, weight, riding style, trails etc; in combination, are unique to me. :)

    Mullet v 29er

On my 29er, bum buzz used to be a regular occurrence on most rides. But not once since I got a mullet. I'm not deformed, but my legs are slightly shorter for my height than you would expect. (32", 6'1")

    Goggles or glasses

Oakleys are famed for the clarity of their lenses. Have you given them a go? You could try the non-prescription ones in a shop, just to test the basic claim.

    Insurance?

Check your house insurance, they often cover bikes. But check the limit as it is likely to be too low. Ring them up and ask (my solution). Next step is to check your bank or building society to see if you have an account that gives you extras that cover your needs. Then you are onto one of the...

Selling an emtb - no warranty

The 7-year figure came from a motoring program on a national TV program dedicated to electric cars and how wonderful they are. Just like a normal motoring program except it's all electric and if anything biased in favour.

    Lyrik forks damping problem

It was a good job that you were listening to the bike and did something about it, or you would have had big problems with the headset/headtube area. Best tip I can give re headset tightening is to turn the bike upside down and lever on the wheel. You will notice any looseness a lot more easily.

    Lyrik forks damping problem

Who said that they were "hardy used"? Even if you accept the description as an honest one, don't assume that they don't need a service or some basic attention. I rode for years on bikes without high-speed damping on either compression or rebound and never had your problem.

    £1,000 Accessory Budget

    Front tyre for mud?

A while ago I had a set of specialist mud tyres. In mud they were great. But I never came across a trail where everywhere was muddy. Elsewhere it had rocks, roots, hardpack and so forth. The mud tyres were definitely sub-optimal there, so eventually I found a more all-round tyre and stuck with...

Selling an emtb - no warranty

If there were as many places I could charge up as there are where I could fill up, then maybe I'd get an electric car. But not until then. Even at the places where there are charging points, they are either occupied, not working, or are low charge rate points that take ages to supply what you...
