    Vitus E-Sommet VR

I've got the latest 3.3.4 E-Tube and all up to date firmware on my 2019 VR. My peartune is due early next week so I'll let you know if it works ok.

Thanks again. I've already learnt to lift and shift, like changing gear on the motorbike. You just reduce the crank input slightly, certainly makes shifting smooth.

Thanks for answering, Gary. All firmware up to date (Was finally able to check now the apps been updated). At least it sounds normal behaviour, certainly isn't impacting the way the bike works. It was very pronounced thud of engagement. Not noisy but the feeling through the crank and my foot.

So I'm on my third ride now and have noticed a delay on the motor engagement. I think it was there from day 1 but can't be sure. Feels like play in the drive train/delay of the motor engagement and a slight clunk as it engages. no more than a second or a half inch of crank movement before...

Finally, this just updated for me. Not impressed with their turn around but they've done it finally at least.

Did you not call Wiggle/CRC first? They'd replace that under warranty surely. I'd certainly not expect a cassette to fail so soon.

To be fair half the stuff in here should be in its own topic rather than in a monster general thread. Arguably this should be locked and people should start individual topics, it'd make searching way easier and keep each conversation more relevant.

For anyone doing the brakes its a bit of a faff, you need to be confident dismantling a bike to do the rear. Took about 2 hours to do the rear. About 5 minutes to do the front. Motor isn't too bad to drop but you need to do it, not fully off just to lower it enough to reduce the bend in...

Anyone know how fiddly it is to change the rear brake? Had my first ride last night and loved it. No chance it's being sent back so want to fit my preferred brakes on.

I've not tried it yet. I'm also worried. It seems to work fine for connecting but not sure I want to risk a firmware upgrade bricking my bike pre my first ride :ROFLMAO:

Might take you up on that thanks. I spotted this but not sure if it's a risk to then do a firmware update without the controller.

Is it possible to firmware update without using the app? Or do I need to get a e8000 controller to do it? Mine has the E7000 controller.

Snagged cable was causing my dropper issues. So far that's the only thing I've found. Bolts etc all seem right and torqued ok. Got the app issue. Will sort that another day. Stock settings seem ok although I will down tune ECO at some point. Shame the app hasn't been updates since May last...

Cable does seem tight. I'll take a better look later. The outer moves freely through the frame as I lowered it to my required height. Where was it pinched? Do you know how hard it is to feed back through if I disconnect the whole thing?

My bike turned up today :D Looks great (I'll add a photo to the other thread later). Anyone else have issues getting the brand X dropper cable to play nice? It either won't go up, or won't go down. I can't get the middle ground with the damn thing. Bar that I can't see any marks anywhere...

There are a few, but they are rare. Just means I can get around faster :D I'll be giving it a try stock before doing anything that's for sure.

I'm sure the warranty does move with Specialized ebikes. But it is rare.

    Vitus E-Sommet VR

I suspect this is exactly what happens. I watched one the other week. I'd have paid up to 2.8K and risked no warranty but the price it sold for was crazy considering what a new one costs. So I went new. Should be with me next week. Figured it was worth the risk with a 30 day return! What a...

Cheers Paul. I'll be giving it a go standard to begin with. Anything you build doesn't need extra speed to get down :ROFLMAO: Be good to join for you a ride/build/photoshoot one day.

Hi all, I ordered my new bike a few days ago. A Vitus E-Sommet VR from Wiggle (30 day returns so you can't go far wrong!). I currently ride a Radon Swoop 170, which I'll be keeping for bike park/uplift days. The E-Bike will be used to get out quickly in an evening and get around as many...
