@Sparkomatic has a good suggestion. 12-speed mechs are notoriously prone to damage, which is why I'm on my 3rd on my current bike. But impacts don't always result in a snapped mech, often the mech hanger gets bent. They are meant to be sacrificial, so bending is easy. When I say "bent" I don't...
I know that mech hangers are meant to be sacrificial items and therefore disposable, but I have never had one fail on me. But because they are meant to fail, I have always carried a spare for every bike I've had (and never used it).
I know it's a pain, but it is never a bad thing to do and frequently a good thing! :)
Lookout for other stuff to do while you are at it. Like crap in the mech, loose mech hanger bolts. Ensure all bolts are torqued properly.
I'm assuming from your choice of shot that by gears 10-12, you mean the small ones.
I have blown up both pics and they are too blurred for me to see well what I'm looking for.
Any chance you could take closer shots, higher resolution and on a clean cassette?
@wenna Have you considered a used version? If Northern Sweden is such a difficult market to sell into, then it must be a good one to buy from. :)
That way you can get the bike you need right now that will assist with your recuperation. Once fully recovered you can go full on and get the bike of...
If you are considering smoothing off that scratch, DO IT NOW!
Definitely before your next ride. That sharp raised edge on the scratch will damage your seals.
WTB say that 40mm is compatible but only just. See this:
Tire & Rim Fit Chart
They have two charts, 1st one is for "road plus, adventure..." and others. The 2nd chart is for mtb. The 40mm tyre width recco comes from the 1st chart for a 29mm internal rim width.
On the advice of TF Tuned, I used a magnifying glass, a bright light and a very sharp knife. (I used a craft knife).
Take a look at the scratch and with the knife carefully remove any sharp edges from the edge of the scratch. These edges are what do the damage to the wiper seals. I have done...
I scratched one stanchion on my fork and I phoned TF Tuned for advice. They said that they can be DIY repaired if they are not too bad. The main problem is that the edges of the scratch can damage the wiper seals, letting in crap. If the scratch is too bad to repair, the stanchions can be...
@wenna Pretty much all emtbs now are very good bikes. You seem to know how to understand a geometry table, so choose one of those bikes that will fit you. There are other excellent bikes out there, ones that you can walk into a shop and try one out for size. Don't forget to read the reviews...
I posted the same thing a few weeks ago.
Kenevo SL - New Turbo Kenovo SL 50% off
Someone challenged me when they couldn't find it on line, so I posted pics. Then someone else suggested that you had to actually be at the dealer. In my case it was Rutland Cycling in Leicestershire.
I suggest...
