Need help deciding on a reliable motor.

-ish. The motor bearings sit inside a sealed space which houses the drive chain connecting the motor to the drive cog. So an contamination would need to make it's way through the drive cog's axle bearings, and then through the motor's bearings.

Need help deciding on a reliable motor.

If you want durability, then you want Rocky Mountain's Dyname 4. It uses a standard bottom bracket, which can easily be serviced to replaced. The motor's cog sits higher in the frame and is protected by a cover with does a good job of keeping water and dirt out. The cog is driven by the motor...

    Removing chain retention roller

Has anyone removed the chain retention roller when riding cross country? Removing it would still have the chainring with about a quarter wrap of chain, which is the same amount that a lot of high pivot bikes successfully use. It would also make it much quieter, which would be nice. Of course...

    Shortening your cranks

Had my first off road ride with my Atlas 165 cranks. OOOOOH MYYYYYY GOODNESS. It is so much better.

I appreciate that NSB recognizes this as a potential marketing, and is working to figure things out.

    Shortening your cranks

The Pinkbike article says it's Cinch: https://www.pinkbike.com/news/north-shore-billet-announces-new-canadian-made-talon-cranks.html The product page says, "RF chainring mount".

    Shortening your cranks

You're kind of stuck with method already listed since the cranks need a Cinch interface, and only Race Face makes those. Remember, if you have the Ride cranks they're actually a 175!

    Shortening your cranks

I just installed my 165 Atlas cranks. I barely had to turn the adjuster, so the crank lengths are really close.

    OUCH…..that hurt

Was the bad get off from a jump? That is hard-fucking-core. My respect for continuing to push through and advocate for yourself and finally getting back on a bike.

    OUCH…..that hurt

Riding dirt I'm knocked myself out before, plenty of blunt force trauma, and some skin dirt rash, but nothing really dramatic. However, riding a bike path once, a car took me out of the cross walk and threw me into the intersection, dislocating and breaking one of my fingers. My worst injury...

Is it me? Second faulty EP8 after 315 miles total…

Take a look at Rocky Mountain. From an engineering and sustainability stand point, their system is much better. It uses a standard bottom bracket that's separate from the motor, and the torque sensor is a reliable externally mounted strain gauge. The motor itself is a simply the motor running a...

    Shortening your cranks

I'm not trying to be a pain, but the RaceFace website shows the options are either "151" or "DH136".

Race Face shows the Atlas comes in DH136 and 151. Which one did you use?

    Motorcycle stand style for eMTB

I bought one to try out and it should be here Friday. Thanks again! If it work well, I may add caster wheels to make it easy to move around.

    Motorcycle stand style for eMTB

So apparently only completely healthy people are allowed to ride eMTBs? What are activities do you think only 100% healthy people should do?

    Motorcycle stand style for eMTB

That stand looks MUCH better, and I'll probably end up picking up a couple. These are the roll-in stands I'm currently using and they're pretty useless. They might work okay for a road bike, but they suck for an eMTB.

    Motorcycle stand style for eMTB

I have a dodgy back, and generally avoid lifting. When I need to put one of the eMTBs in my work stand I have a small ceiling mounted electric hoist I use. The bike stand would be mostly used for storage. I've tried "roll-in" bike stands, but they don't hold the bike very securely at all.
