The Macan does a pretty good job of overcoming all the disadvantages of ICE as far as driving. It's almost as good as electric in many ways. It's a ton more expensive overall and of course not as quick. I did enjoy it a lot, for around 400 miles.
That's interesting. It seems like maybe the Ohlins has a narrow "sweet spot?" The suggestions have columns for "pro" and "expert" but not "fat mortals." LOL
I'm a mod on a motorcycle forum that has a politics section. It is so hard to define "political" and what we're finding is that it truly is based on each person's perspective. In my area they are trying to pass new e-bike restrictions, is that "political?" What about when you talk about how...
One man's human rights and ethics issue is another's politics. Not being political, but to help on understanding human psychology. People on both sides will see a given issue as an intrinsic rights or ethics issue, but the other side sees it as politics. Reverse the roles for another given...
In the US, they have been subsidizing EV sales in many ways. When I bought mine, that was a factor; vastly reduced registration. I paid about $75 for 7 years; insanely cheap. My electric motorcycle was purchased after the subsidy ended and cost $650 for a couple years. Oh, every state is...
Thanks for the tip, I'll look for that. I think the worst thing about this happening is that it seems like it will basically eliminate the ability to get real warnings. I think (not sure) that the same indication is given for both real problems and just "clean and lube." Dumb.
Odd about...
It's definitely not necessary, like this whole thread, or even MTBs in general.
Some dummy on another forum just insisted that I wasted $12k on Autopilot when it does nothing. First, AP is free on every Tesla, and second, since I let the car drive itself on AP nearly all the time, we can say...
I'm this simplistic: Does the math make sense? Will it deliver a good fit in my life? Done. Musk is a a whiny child, and yet his shitiness is nowhere near the level of having to boycott something. I also switched to Apple when it made sense, not when the crazy screwball died. I'm not going...
LOL, right? Like is Shimano related to anyone who bombed Pearl Harbor or tortured Chinese prisoners? Goofy. Oh, and of course, don't buy a Volkswagen. Probably too soon to talk about that little faux pas.
Weight and size is my best guess. Also the Tesla is getting power-washed in a single direction that is surely shielded since they know. On a bicycle there's nothing to keep the jet from hitting the seals. I bet the Tesla's seals never get hit at all.
I've been a machine/vehicle guy all my life. Motorcycles, bicycles, cars, trucks, Jeeps. I have bought, fixed, and sold more cars than most people will have driven in a lifetime. I'm just bored with it as far as daily driving. I turn the corner, turn on Autopilot, and have a nap. Ok, not...
I used to be a car guy. Extreme car guy. Now they bore me. I'm a Jeep guy too, but no longer have one because I won't drive it as a DD. I have a very full shop and work on all my stuff, and also realize that the likelihood of having to work on the Tesla is near zero. And there's a Tesla...
Not quicker than *MY* M3LR, but quicker than a base SR.
The battery problem with the environemnt is being solved. I think that should ease the environmental concerns, right? One reclamation company is getting better than 90% recycling and expects to exceed 95. And being mostly nuke-charged...
Yes, or nearly so. Motorcycles and bicycles are for fun, and purchased emotionally, as I said about my electric motorcycle. Cars are just tools. Boring tools. No car can compare to the fun of bikes, so I gave up on trying to have fun cars.
That said, the insane acceleration is indeed fun...
Oh yeah, since we have so much extra night power, they use it to pump water up a four-lake system in the mountains. Then it runs down in the day and regenerates power. It's basically a water-gravity battery. If we had more EVs, we could make great use of that surplus overnight power, since...
"Like" is an opinion, and you can have one. Whether they are a good value is math, you can't have an opinion on math. See the difference?
I have no idea who your other silliness about the environment is aimed at. The majority of MY power comes from nuclear, particularly the car charging...
I've had people directly tell me that my choice DOES affect them, because of some insane political assumptions they make. I can't even get near their idiotic "logic" or thought process.
And this is one example. I will say that my car choice is not political and be told that it is. I don't...
