Yeah thats me on the Mondy, should have mentioned it's not my footage...
I'm absolutely loving the bike and the way it rides but hasn't been without issues since I got it in September.
It came with the wrong Q factor cranks (all the early ones did, get your mate to check his), and this has...
Bosch recommend keeping your batteries between 10-30degC so it might be best to keep them inside when it's cold (assuming the battery is removable).
Ive just started getting another issue where my lock barrel for the battery freezes up in the cold and stops working, and I need to bring the bike...
My manual skills aren't the best, I still can't hold the balance point on any bike I own ?
With the Mondraker I can lift the front to clear obstacles and ride drops just fine, it's obviously alot heavier than a normal bike though. Getting it to the balance point is quite a task but I'm sure...
It's a hefty lump of a bike.
I've got a 2021 Level R in XL and it's supposed to weigh 27.1kg without pedals, never actually weighed it myself...
Love the way it rides though!
Cheers, I had a chain splitter but didn't take a quick link out with me...
My chain has hollow pins too, Im not sure if you can push these nearly out, shorten the chain and push back in like you can with solid pins?
We had a dusting of snow overnight, don't really get much here so thought I'd head out from my door and go on a little explore before it turns to slush.
Really fun even on some tame local bridleways!
Then this happened, followed by a walk of shame back home
Cheers SRAM
There's been a few posts on here of people losing them when not attached using the screw.
Do you need to remove it? There is a lock function through the app, I think this stops anyone else being able to fire up up and ride off.
Headed out for a natural ride on the ebikes yesterday.
Started off at -2 with some brutal winds, lots of ice and rock making it pretty sketchy. We even had a little flurry of snow making it feel all festive!
Once we dropped back down the conditions picked up and it was a beautiful day (y)...
It sounds like the clutch could be failing? I'm not sure how it works in an ep8 though...
It's going to be a warranty job anyway, hopefully Commencal aren't too slow in getting this fixed for you...
E2A - From Pinkbike article - "A one-way clutch delivers smooth engagement while reducing drag...
The connectors look different (going from pics on Google) and they don't have as many buttons as the kiox controller.
If you go for a purion the controls and screen are one unit, but it is quite a bulky looking thing to have on your bars
If you can replicate it again you should be able to see where the issue is if you have time to look down.
Chainring/chain rotates with cranks = Freehub
Cranks rotate but chainring/chain doesn't = Motor
Yes it's expensive for something so exposed, sorry for your loss!
I think the handlebar controls are different so you will need those too, and you might need to drop your motor to fit the cables, but should be a straight swap.
For a cheap light you can't go wrong with the Solarstorm x2 (~£15 on ebay). They have a separate battery that you'll need to mount somewhere. Good spread and very bright.
I don't like having a separate battery so for the helmet light I use an exposure diablo, not cheap though!
No experience of your motor, but if I spin my pedals backwards you can here 50 clicks for every pedal revolution (Bosch).
So when you start pedalling there can be upto 7.2 degrees of free movement before the cranks engage with the motor.
It's not something I've ever noticed out riding though...
Congrats Zimm!
Missed the live vid and have just skimmed through, didn't hear my name pop up but maybe next time.
Thanks for putting this together, some decent prizes to be won!
