Powerfly TRL Bontrager rims losing 10 lbs a week?

Have you tried immersing the wheels in water to see where the leaks are? Despite topping up with fresh sealant, my tyres lose air steadily (about 3-5 psi per week). I can't see where its coming from. It's not really a problem because it doesn't affect a ride and I check psi before every ride as...

    Fox float x slow leak

It might be the Schrader valve. But the bucket of water test will reveal all.

    Shimano XT M8120 caliper availability

Glad you got sorted. I have a spare caliper left from a previous bike. I had bought a new caliper to get going and then claimed under warranty for the one that had failed. I was thinking of selling it, but my current bike has the same brakes and now I know they are hard to get and/or expensive...

About to pop my ebike cherry

And another thing! When I first got my EP8 powered bike I listened out for the infamous "rattle". It was there, just. I only heard it when not pedalling and traversing slightly rough ground. If it really was rough then my tyres (and me) made enough noise to drown out any rattle that was there...

About to pop my ebike cherry

I have had two Shimano motors, the e8000 and the newer EP8. The first gave me over 3000 trouble free mile and I loved it. The feel was very natural, just like me on a really good day. The EP8 is a significant upgrade from the e8000, 21% more torque, lighter and tunable. What the latter offers...

    Unanswered Vittoria Air-Liner Tyre Insert

If nobody on here has used that particular liner, then it's down to Mr Google. When you say a "tubeless upgrade" do you mean that you are already tubeless and the upgrade is to add a liner. Or are you thinking of going tubeless for the first time (on this bike)?

    lower power

There was another almost identical question that I can't be arsed to find. You should be able to find it. There is no motor drag, it just the heavy sticky tyres and a heavy bike.

Merida eOne-Sixty, wires in the headtube mangled

Still through the headtube! At least as far as I can tell from a 2023 review video. It doesn't tend to rank very high versus other stuff.

Recommendations for Best Shock Absorbing Shoes

I have arthritis in my knees and I use Volterol gel (the 2.32% concentration for joints) around the whole joint before every ride. I also wear waterproof socks all year round when riding. The extra thickness provides a lot of cushioning. I buy shoes that are one size bigger than normal to...

Merida eOne-Sixty, wires in the headtube mangled

Thanks for the informative post @Zagora. Yep, the "wires through the headtube" was a 2021 "improvement"! I haven't found anyone that likes it. it didn't cause me any problems at all, until all of a sudden, it did.

    Whyte E160 RSX Cassette removal

I had a Whyte T130 and only a few weeks in when I removed the wheel the whole cassette as one unit (still bolted together) fell off! I too wondered if this was some new way of clamping. There was no obvious shear or fracture marks, all the metal looked smooth and shiny. It turned out that the...

Merida eOne-Sixty, wires in the headtube mangled

I have been out on the bike and all is perfectly well. :) But I miss the headlight! I never used it, nor was I ever likely to use it, but it somehow suited the bike.

    2024 colours

Not just Haibike, but for all bike companies; it would make things a lot simpler for everyone if the marketing guys could be reined in a bit and told to choose any colour they like, but it must come from an existing car company's range. Then at least we'd all have the chance to buy some matching...

It hurts a lot when you come off. Depends upon what sort of volcanic rock though. Some is like sharp cinders, some like lumps of flint with razor edges.

    Shimano lack of support

@billybodger1 other motors fail too, but other manufacturers appear to have a better customer service policy than Shimano. Like you my Shimano motor is fine. I had an e8000 for 2.5 years and did over 3000 miles and never had a problem. I have had my EP8 for just over two years at over 2500 miles...

    Long wait at bike shops?

I always send off my suspension every 1200 miles or 12 months whichever comes last. I do just about everything else, especially if it means I get the bike going asap. But for some things, my LBS is so cheap and quick that I sometimes just let them do it. There are also some things that I can't...
