The box came and I thought I would take a look and check for damage. I opened the drawers in the cabinet and the instructions slid down the back and are lodged behind the tool chest. The base of the cabinet has been removed and the tool chest slid inside. I tried to pull out the toolchest to get...
I found these on my lawn. They were where I normally wash my bike, so I'm assuming that the spores may have been washed off and into the grass. They are quite small mushrooms; the picture is 4" square (100mm x 100mm). Anyone know what sort they are? And of course, are they edible?
Only yesterday I told myself that my Merida eOne-Sity 9000 was my forever bike. If the motor goes, I'll just buy another and keep the bike. Then you go and post about the Kellys Theos 100! Bastard!
When the Kellys bikes first came out I loved them then, but they were too new and too...
Sketchy start? I'd have to cross that log on my arse, with the bike on my back!
All I need to know now is that there are wall-to-wall mosquitos, bears, wolves, snakes and other random critters! Yikes
Just out of interest, what rating would that trail be? Any idea?
I use Dettol anti-bacterial Laundry Cleanser, "kills 99.9% of germs", even at lower temperatures. Cost about £6.25 for 3liters. You can get it from any supermarket. I wash all my kit at 30 deg C and put 50ml of this stuff in every wash. Every now and then I wash the bike helmet in a solution of...
Chain suck can be a swine, especially if you have never come across it before. In my experience a badly worn chain ring or a new chain on a worn ring is the prime candidate. But as the following video shows, there are other more mundane causes.
Look out for tiny leaf springs behind the pawls. They push the pawls onto the ratchet teeth and keep them there for instant engagement. If the spring corrodes and loses its power, then suddenly you have no drive. The effect depends upon how many points of engagement there are still working, the...
My Dad and all his blood relatives of his age and older were Geordies. I'm from Yorkshire but I had a mixed Geordie and Bradford accent. Only a Bradford lad would know I wasn't 100% from round there. Consequently, I could understand if not speak Geordie. When I had just started as an engineering...
A worn cassette or worn chain on a new cassette would have been my first suggestion, but you report that they are both new. Next step would be the freewheel and then a worn ring. Freewheels do wear, they also can get water in there and the ratchet springs corrode. Unless it's something in the...
My DMR Vaults were getting a bit clattery, so I bought some bushes and bearings from Rulla Bearings:
Pedal Bearing Kits Archives • Rulla Bike Bearings
But I got this minimalist kit from them via eBay for £8.50 delivered.:

They fit V11 and Vaults

Yes, we use that word, it means a very small amount of something.
But it must be years and years since I have heard it or even seen it in print.
Here is what the Urban Dictionary has to say on the subject. Read all the way to the bottom, it gets wilder and wilder. :ROFLMAO...
