That's with the Specialized RE though right? So there is a possibility that there is something in the RE BMS that the Motor needs to talk to before it will be happy?
If I could take the main battery out and fit an alternative internal battery, either a 240wh and save 800g (close to 2lbs) (and...
Thanks. Supposedly the bike will run with the internal battery removed and just the Specialized range extender attached, so that would suggest that if the Volabike one connects in the same way it should work. Hopefully.
Do you know if the Volabike uses 2170's?
Thank you,
Specialized quote 1.8kg for the stock battery (so 178Wh/kg) and your's is considerably better than that. Can you run it without the Specialized internal battery in place? That would match the stock battery with the RE but save nearly a kg. What brand is your aftermarket one, do you...
As one of the 23,000 the reason I haven't tried to contradict your findings (or equally confirm them), is that I don't have access to an SL1.2 motor to test and compare.
My eyes are here to discover data, but I must be missing it amongst the bickering.
I see a lot of questions and very few...
I'm very interested in this thread in general, and don't want to derail it too much. But could you elaborate on this a bit please.
What does the stock battery weigh (sorry I know I should just take mine out and weigh it but I'm not at home at the moment so I don't have that option)?
I've always...
I wasn't suggesting making our own packs. Just wondering if we can work out the plausibility of Specialized adding to the battery capacity in the new Kenevo SL.
If they are maxed out on the capacity of the cells and cant go to a bigger cell because of the tube size, then we can be pretty sure it...
Does anyone know the spec of the standard battery? It's presumably2 x 12 or 13 3300mAh 18650s or 2070(0)s
If so, how would you increase this? Going to 2170s maybe? Would there be space in the existing frame DT?
That's an easy one, ABSOLUTELY. Large part of the reason I got mine. Solo rides on it are great, on a group ride you can chat on the climbs but when solo you just want to blast through them. There is a loop I have done on both push-bike and SLEbike several times which is out the door from home...
It depends on the group. I love my First Gen Levo SL and can ride with push-bikes and FF e-bikes OK. It tends to be that those still on push bikes are super fit, and so if I put the SL in a low Eco mode we get along fine. Those on FF bikes (at lease here) tend to be just a little less fit, but...
Won't work on the Kenevo SL (unless there is a new one coming out with the UDH). Should work (as I understand it) on most bikes that have the UDH so that is the thing to check. The biggest problem is the cassette being moved out 2.5mm, the UDH arrangement has space available to allow this shift...
I am/was a big fan of the Assegai up front but have just swapped to a Specialized Hillbilly Grid Trail in T9. The 2.4 HillBilly inflates to about the same volume as a 2.6 Assegai but is a fair bit lighter (150g) and the Assegai doesn't come in a 2.6 with the MaxxGrip compound.
Very happy with...
Got a very tall friend looking for an SL type ebike, Enduro/Trail ish 160mm ish. He's 6'9" which puts the Specialized SL etc out of contention I think. Anyone got any ideas? Could just be a frameset as he has plenty of parts to build up with, but complete bikes too.
Cranks arrived, they looked good, plenty of space for adding a new pedal hole. Little bit lighter than the stock MTB 165mm ones but since shorter means less leverage (in some modes) I think they should be fine once shortened.
So went ahead and cut them down to 150mm.
Very happy with how...
No options for cranks shorter than 160mm (which is what I think I need/kneed) and even the 160's are proving hard to track down now. As the motor has been replaced by the SL1.2 now with a different interface, I am worried that Praxis wont be inclined to do another run of the aluminium cranks...
Praxis USA just came back to me and the Q factor is identical so I'm going to order a set and see if it looks like there is enough material where I need it.
