It looks like the disc has multiple little slots so it can detect the speed multiple times per wheel revolution, but there is also one big slot which would tell it complete when revolutions too. So just making a disc with fewer slots wouldn't work.
There was a one year exclusive partnership with the brands that we have seen products from. Pinion weren't even returning emails from other brands.
That year is about up now so hopefully we will see more offerings in the next year or two, but my understanding is that there is still very little...
I agree that it's somewhat disappointing (to me). If you were hoping for a 2.5kg motor (plus whatever the clamp weighs) with a great power to weight, then yes you wouldn't be disappointed. But I'm not.
I'm hoping to see the lightest possible system and ideally the lightest possible system with a...
There is a lot to like about this. Personally I would have preferred they used the "tech" to go all out on lightweight. If they had restricted this to say 80Nm and 400Wh how light could they have got it? Energy density of the battery seems very good.
Not sure about the touch screen. Even with...
My Garmin has popped up this error on the last couple of rides. Bike seems to carry on working OK, but both times it has only popped up in the last 15 minutes or less of riding so I haven't really stressed it. Only thing I could find on searching previous issues was magnet related but checked...
I have the Moto design Tyrewiz units which link to my Garmin and on Wednesday's ride at the end of a rocky descent I noticed that the front one was displaying 6psi below what it should have been.
So I stopped and felt the tyre, felt good but put some more air in to be safe. Display had stopped...
Only thing I have found really effected range was tyre choice, very surprised at how noticeable it was switching from a Soft Butcher to a Medium Purgatory on the back, very obvious increase in range.
You need to get the front wheel higher than you think, and on a long heavy ebike this can be pretty hard. You want to be almost to the balance point of a wheelie but with your body still slightly ahead of the rear axle.
The best way to learn the basic technique is to get a fully rigid (or...
Yes. I think you will definitely want to mullet it. I'm 5'7" and going full 29" was not something I wanted to do; for the brief time I rode it (about 2 months) it nearly caused me to crash at least half a dozen times and on one occasion I got "sucked into" the gap between the seat and the tyre...
Axles are the weak spot. I used to make solid axles similar to what you have done, its a good budget option.
I have the Xeno hubs now, can highly recommend. The discs are a concern, they are very expensive BUT they are also the only discs I have ever had that haven't warped at all, every other...
No idea. Ours is a 69 plate. Not had any issues but don't do a huge mileage. They definitely do a long wheelbase. Ours is the standard medium which isn't really big enough for what you describe but does seat 5 comfortably (or 6,7 or 8 with the third row seats sections in) with a good amount of...
You might want to look at the Peugeot Traveler LWB too. Similar to the above recommendations but classed as a car rather than van so no 60mph speed limit on dual carriageways and lots of extra safety features and creature comforts for the rear passengers (side air bags etc) though no opening...
