There's a small bunch of us go maybe once a week (usually during the week Mon-Fri), but not so often in winter/wet weather. We usually ride FoD or Malverns - more often the Malverns ATM as the tracks are firmer.
Doesn't rebound make more difference? Too much and the shock won't recover in time for the next bump, too little and it bounces back past the static point. Compression damping makes it feel soft/firm.
STunlocker works on the 2022 model. I unlocked mine but TBH I never use it at full power as it kills the battery without feeling much different.
Allegedly some dealers will unlock it as well, which would avoid warrenty issues.
Sounds like a function of the lubricating properties rather than damaging the actual metal. I have used it on a motorbike as a water dispersant and rust protection for years without seeing any "damage" to steel or aluminium alloy parts whatsoever. Common knowledge sounds more like rumours and...
Same with petroleum based grease - ISTR it causes the seal to swell and jam. Red rubber grease is vegetable based and widely used on vehicle brake pistons.
If you Google it Shimano say down to 0c is OK for charging and using, although you will have reduced performance - that will go back to normal once temperatures rise. Actual limits stated on their .pdf are -10c to 50c for discharge, 0 to 40c for charging, -20c to 60c for storage.
