Why don't you just take it to a Shimano service centre, let them run diagnostics and send the report off to Shimano/Madison. You'll probably get an answer fairly quickly and you might just get a free motor replacement.
You could be right with the traversing, I was just trying to base it off OSmaps looking at the area.
The black closest to the edge of the woods seems to follow this sort of path if I've worked it out right (1km grids for ref)
Looking on a map I can't see the trails being much longer than 1km.
Certainly not golfie style but if it's designed by the Steel City people it could be fun.
You will lose your warranty if you do this though. Both motor failures I had were electrical and required replacements, so wouldn't want to go down this route personally.
It's not going to be a great bike on tighter slower trails because of the size and weight, it's more of a plougher and will excel on rougher faster trails
Have you tried claiming through warranty with Santa Cruz? Has it been refused for being over 2 years, with no offer of replacement motor or contribution to the cost of a new motor?
Mines currently getting replaced at 2.5 years FOC (Bosch) and I've heard of people getting replacements outside of...
Wow so much anger in here :ROFLMAO:
Yes the shock is pretty much the same in both positions, there might be 0.25mm difference in stroke length if that.
Along with the change of seatstay length, the angle between the seatstay and chainstay changes (by the pivot next to the rear wheel axle)...
I'm not looking for a reaction at all. If you don't know how suspension and geometry works then you shouldn't be posting imo. Like I said, as you go through the travel the shock body moves further away from the seat tube, it does this the most at the first part of it's travel (Mino link...
Again you are wrong, the bottom bracket height drops slightly in the lower mino link position.
If you are looking at the bike from the drive side - As the suspension compresses (lowering the BB) the shock rotates clockwise, pivoting from the lower mount, increasing the clearance between the...
If its 11/12 speed chains should be replaced at 0.5 and cassettes swapped after 0.75, but if its happening in any gear it could be motor related, possibly the clutch bearing?
Might be worth taking to bike shop if drive train can be ruled out
I'd check the drivetrain before anything else. More assistance means more chance of the chain skipping.
Do you have a tool to measure chain stretch? Does it happen more in the smaller gears?
It's a really decent toolbox for the price, makes finding the right tool so much easier.
I ended up buying some non slip mat and fitting it to each level to keep things quiet when it's in the van (y)
Stif cycles have some good deals starting today
Nomad carbon full bikes £2500-3000
Leisure lakes bikes have some ebike deals (Levo's, Trek, previous Orbea Wild)
I replaced the brake hose on my 2021 level, same setup as the photo's above. I ended up removing the sleeve's that runs down the downtube, and cut off the sleeve from the motor cover to the chainstay, you can't feed the hose through this.
Hoses/cables are now just held in with gorilla tape.
I...
Bosch recommend storing the battery between 0-20degC, ideally at a constant room temp of 20, and between 30-60% charge for best battery life.
2m is the maximum overrun an ebike can have by EU regs. I'm not sure if this is dependant on speed though. The standard Gen 4 feels like you get about...
Nice review and impressive looking bike.
Shame about the non-removable battery but understand why they've done it - I just don't like the idea of leaving it in an unheated area through the winter or being able to run multiple batteries on a big day, but I'm probably in the minority doing this...
