So a two to three year old bike is old and obsolete... hmmm.
I was born in 1958, and as many have told me, mine is a generation that has seen a great deal of technological changes at break neck speed. As a child, I grew up listening to AM radio mono (the size of a suitcase), then FM stereo...
I bought my eBike during the end of year sale when the bike shops don't want to get stuck with 'last year's model.'
I happened to chance upon the last handful of bikes and got mine with 30% off RRP. I don't mind this because the latest model will be the following year's last year's model anyway...
I didn't imply that at all. In fact, that's another way of stating the point I was making. MSW as a standard might be fine for a commuter or road bike, but would be tricky to implement for MTB applications and may only serve expose manufacturers to additional liability.
I was just agreeing with...
Yes. MSW is indeed a tricky subject because there is static weight - but then there is dynamic weight (impact force) which varies greatly depending on usage.
Agree... frame failure would be a marketing nightmare for any high-end brand manufacturer... EVEN in extreme and perhaps justifiable...
Yes I've also seen FS MTBs with "Not for off-road use" stickers... but only on bargain cheapie bikes in department stores. They're steel, heavy as a tank and they smell like recycled doormat rubber. ? ?
But I wouldn't have expected to see that on a Kona... at that price... ?
"Fred, I said that's enough. Don't do it again."
I was looking at how flimsy the landing extension was at the beginning of the video... even if his rear wheel made it onto that, things could've had a similar result. ?
Yep, when I mentioned "high saddle" by that I mean my dropper post is fully extended. My highest saddle setting however is not "road cyclist high" but at a level where I can get efficient pedalling but not so high that I can't move my butt behind my saddle momentarily during the odd huck without...
Lockouts OFF all the time for me too. I wish this thread was a poll - interested to see the general consensus.
Probably just me but I actually find climbing ‘long’ steep and technical trails (rocks, roots, rutts) while seated (body forward on a high saddle) with fully active suspension - less...
I think I already mentioned somewhere that even though I'm Kiwi, I just couldn't get into the Lord of the Rings (2001-2003). My wife and I honestly tried, but we were disinterested in about half an hour and on occasion fell fast asleep.
Now, the Hobbiton film set is less than an hours drive...
I used to find it hard to buy into this so called ‘you startled me’ excuse that walkers play out when they full well know that they’re in a shared trail/lane with bicycles.
Until my wife told me that she struggled with the very same thing as a runner when she used to train for Triathlons.
Some...
YES - getting a wrong wall plug for the charger would definitely justify the use of the word "hate" when buying a new eBike! Especially when the bike came from a local or domestic seller... who should've known better to check their own stocks being sold.
If you want to try something different, go visit the Rido saddle website. They seem to think outside of the box as far as saddle designs are concerned.
Have a look at the R2 model... perhaps you could let us know how you get on with it - if you're keen to try something new?
Well, well, well... a good friend of mine rang me earlier today... and my head just exploded because he asked me to help him buy an eMTB!
I'm sure some of us know of a riding mate who's a die-hard "I'm never gonna be caught dead riding an eBike" kinda guy. I actually took his request in a very...
