Attach 3x5 litre cartons of water to your mate and/or his bike. Then run the test again.
That is a lot of weight to move about, to accelerate and to propel up a hill.
You will be so amazed that you will immediately go on a diet!! :)
You will owe your mate a big drink, perhaps several!
Who says that you have to sell a bike for a certain fraction of what you paid for it? If you happend to get a really good deal, why pass that on to the next buyer? The bike is a high spec bike (I am judging from the rrp, I haven't checked) and will be in competition with other used bikes that...
My rear tyre was losing too much pressure between rides so I checked the sealant level. It was dry so I added 120ml of Continental Revo sealant (it's an ammonia-free latex type with bits in). While I was at it, I checked the front tyre and it had about 60ml still swilling about so I only added...
When I used to buy cheap chains they always rusted and I had to lube the chain after every wet ride. If you pay a bit more for your chains, not only do they not rust, but they last longer too. (win-win!)
I have done most of the chain cleaning ideas listed above, except the use of an air jet. Whilst satisfying to do in the belief that I was doing a good job, none of them made a difference to chain life. So now I don't do anything special at all.
I clean the bike with water the cheapest car...
I would agree that the better-quality chains last long enough to more than make up for the cost. You only have to try one once.
The trouble is that your chainring and cassette are probably knackered by wearing out the cheap chains. A worn chain is like mechanical aids; it transmits it's wear to...
Only someone from a dry country like Israel or one of the drier regions in the USA could say "keep it out of the water". :ROFLMAO:
In the UK that would mean no riding from October to May.
@timo2824 I just read your post again and although I have already replied once, I need to add this:
You wrote "There is zero of the rattle you hear people talk about. I figure if it starts rattling, I'll take it apart and see what broke, but so far so good!"
The rattle that people talk about...
They will go up a ramp in Walk mode just fine.
But you have to be tall enough to hold the bars with your thumb on the switch while it climbs the ramp!
Saying that they are perfect as they are puts Giant on loose ground.
Identical bikes are sold in the USA and Europe. Except that the bikes for sale in Europe are limited by law to 25 kph (15.5 mph) and although I don't know the reason, in the USA they are limited to 20 mph (32.1 kph). But the...
I have no idea whether it will fit your bike, but if you have any evidence that the motor has only done 85 miles, then it is worth a bob or two! Just take a look at what new e8000 motors are selling for! Yes, I know it doesn't have a warranty, but many riders will take a chance, especially if...
That works for you, but it wouldn't work for me. Even when I was a wage-slave I still maintained my bikes.
It doesn't take much effort, scarcely any in fact, to maximise the battery life and put off the day when you have to get another one.
I would not enjoy riding a bike with a rusty or...
Add in layer of fine abrasive from the mud that we collect (or dust in the Summer) and you have a nice grinding going on. It wouldn't take long to wear away the paint and the carbon underneath.
The last thing he would want would be to encumbered with any of the old staff, with their service and pension entitlements. How he managed to avoid the TUPE legislation, I have no idea.
TUPE = Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment). It means that when you take over or buy a...
