What did you buy your ebike this week?

    Silicone Shine is brilliant stuff.

What did you buy your ebike this week?

@the202 It may help you to remove the centre front pin on each pedal, both sides of course. That is the one that digs into your shin bone. You will still get gouges from time to time, but they don't seem to hurt as much.

    Pic of the Day

Oh bugger! I'd better make the one I've got last a bit longer (by only using it on me!)

    Pic of the Day

Those "Bite-away 2" heat pens do work. My brother got a really bad bit in Australia last week. He either got bit three times right next to each other or it had three fangs! My daughter travels the tropical world for a living and had one of those pens. My brother's arm had swollen up and the bite...

    20mm to 15mm axle /fork conversion .

I just Googled "20mm to 15mm hub axle conversion" and got a load of responses. Some were tubes 20mm dia with a 15mm dia hole. Some were short plugs that slot into your forks. Take your pick. :) I'm assuming of course that your identical search to me will produce an identical Google response...

    Schwalbe radial tyres

I can't speak about the Schwalbe tyres, or even whether they do have more tyre in contact with the ground. Tyre pressure x contact area for both tyres equals the weight of rider and bike. But I do know that tyres are part of your suspension. A few years ago (pre emtb), my mate and I were similar...

    Dji avinox- Amflow

Not even an indication of price, other than £0. But I'll bet it is a lot of money!

What premium features are you most intrigued by?

Increased energy density for batteries, leading to... Either Lighter batteries for the same range or longer range for the same weight. A gearbox motor, a simple 2-speed would suffice, then the cassette could be simpler and stronger; ditto the chain.

    Merida e160 9000

Mine is the 2021 model with the EP8 motor. For suspension, it has the FOX Float DPX2 Elite, EVOL LV shock (150mm) and the FOX 38 Elite fork (160mm). I've done just under 3200 miles since I bought it in Jul'21. Zero problems with the motor or the battery. I have replaced chains, cassettes and...

bwlch-nant-yr-arian- Closure - well not totally - Sign the petition , National Resources Wales - AKA Not really working

Signed. It is a fantastic place. It was the first place that I took my young grandson to that was not his home trail. We both absolutely loved it. We live a long way away, but when we are in Wales somehow, we always find a way to visit it.

Damnit! New Fox Transfer '25 sticking

I am not saying that this is the answer, but it is worth considering. Seat posts are full of high precision sliding tubes that are sensitive to compression. If you have tightened your seat-post clamp too tightly it will squeeze the dropper and generating various problems. One way to enable you...

    Chain not settings on cassette

The cassette looks fine to me. I see no signs of shark-toothing and minimal burring. I agree with @RustyMTB about the B-screw, that upper jockey wheel looks too far away from the cassette. Setting up 12-speed from scratch always seems to take me longer than ever it did with 9-10 speed. So it...

    Bent chain

Before every ride, I wipe the chain by running it through an old towel held in my hand. I'm doing it to clean it before lubing. but I'm 100% confident that I would pick up any irregularities in the chain such as the one you reported.

    Hello from another new eKiwi!

Welcome and nice choice of bike.:) I love my eOne-Sixty. Tip 1: Get some helicopter tape on it. Tip 2: Buy or find a source for that paint colour, and the black as well. (Motor spares places are a good source).

    Distance strategy

If I needed to go as far as possible with my existing bike, without making any mechanical mods like tyres, tyre pressures and gears, then I would adjust the settings on the motor. I have a Shimano EP8 and I can limit the max torque (and therefore maximum power for any given cadence). I can also...

Lost in the world of tyres for my trails

Good choice! Don't spend any money on your bike (apart from basic maintenance) until you know what difference you want to make. You never know, the tyre combo may be perfect for you and where you ride.

Hi guys I’m looking for some guidance on a possible repair of a gen 2 Levo battery . The rosenberger plug on the battery is broken

This might help for a DIY solution, or where someone is helping buy you just need the parts. https://www.rosenberger.com/0_documents/de/catalogs/ba_automotive/AUTO_RoPD_Flyer_2016.pdf

No batteries available for my 4 day old Canyon Spectral:On CF8 - considering returning it

Yep! Email back the summary of what was said, referring to the telecon with the named individual, along with date and time. Then it's in writing, even if they don't reply to confirm it. Some companies, if not most, keep telephone records for quite a while.
