    E-ST900 tyre removal

It may work for some, but I don't like the "stand on the tyre with both feet". Tyres can be really stick to a rim and all your weight on a wheel can bend it, unless you have the hub in a hole. Ensure the tyre is fully deflated. If out on the trail I remove the wheel and put the side of the tyre...

    Help! EP8 no workee

I suspect that it is the build of the bike and not a fault of the motor. I have not heard of this being "a thing" with EP8 motors. I've done almost 3200 miles on mine and zero problems. I did almost 3500 miles on my e8000, ditto. Looking at the /Shimano/Motors page is the right place to be and...

    Dji avinox- Amflow

The usual questions when comparing range: How did your riding weight compare to that of the tester? What about the tyres/pressure etc?

Ride carefully - I fell and had a life changing stroke!

I tend to read most of the "accident followed by debilitating trauma" stories because I realise that it could easily happen to me! The main thing that I picked up is (despite all the depressing symptoms) to stay positive. Easy for me, I know, I'm not the one in a wheelchair. But some of the...

If you couldn’t ride bikes anymore…

Or Bowls, or ballroom dancing, or bingo. I'm sure there will be a few others equally as appalling that I will be offered.

What am I missing by not updating my 3-year-old EP8?

I want carbon, just not carbon rims! Well actually I just don't want to pay for them! :ROFLMAO:

Peatys or muc off tyre sealant

This is what you get with latex sealants if you don't clean out the tyres occasionally.. a latex starfish! I could hear it rumbling along inside the tyre.

What am I missing by not updating my 3-year-old EP8?

I agree, but I have no idea when I'll be wearing one! The money I have has to last a long time, I hope!:ROFLMAO: Besides, not spending money is a hard habit to break! For most of my life I didn't have much money left over at the end of the month, so spending on indulgences was never a...

If you couldn’t ride bikes anymore…

How about servicing them? Get yourself Cytech qualified and you can either charge or do it for fun for worthy causes. That has the advantage that you are investing in yourself, which will come in handy when your health problem is resolved. :)

If you couldn’t ride bikes anymore…

Ten-pin bowling? If that is too energetic, or requires too much rapid head movement, then how about crown green or flat green bowling. Flat green is also done indoors so it's an all year, all weather activity. My wife started flat green bowling just under 4 years ago and loves it with an...

    Electric tyre inflator recommendations?

Recently, my wife bought a Ryobi starter kit (£99.99 delivered) that consisted of an inflator, a charger and a 2.0 Amp-Hr battery. It was bought for the cars but as it has a Presta to Schrader converter fitting, it will do my bike. Or it would if I could get the pump and converter fitting to...

Peatys or muc off tyre sealant

@Bones How much OKO Tyre Sealant do you use. You also mentioned watering it down. I have tyres 29x2.5 and 27.5x2.6. There is what appears to be a generic tyre sealant: Tyre Sealant off road oko 1.25 Litres - Tuckwells But then the OKO website mentions OKO Magic Milk for tubeless tyres...

Peatys or muc off tyre sealant

I used to use Puncture Guard but they don't make it any more. It was fluorescent green, so it was easy to see any leaks/puncture holes. It was non-latex, so it never dried out. Dead easy to use too. The green spots on the tyres let me know that I had over two dozen punctures on each tyre before...

What am I missing by not updating my 3-year-old EP8?

Thanks to the link from @D3xt3rMTB (I will be saving that), I have the list of updates following version 4.4.5 and what they do for the DU EP800 motor They look innocuous, but is there any chance that Shimano are not telling us the whole story? That sounds paranoid I know, but Shimano have not...

What am I missing by not updating my 3-year-old EP8?

Thanks for the feedback @RustyIron . :) I have updated software before and I don't have a technical problem of the fumble-thumbs variety. The risks I was thinking about were more of the "Will the update remove my current flexibility?" "Will it increase the software that detects any mods I...

What am I missing by not updating my 3-year-old EP8?

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Or your saddle or your grips! Keep it well away from your discs!! Silicone Shine is an aerosol, so I spray into a cloth and then wipe the cloth over the surface. That avoids any problem of overspray.

    SRAM T-type transmission

@Pazman We all have our off days (I've had a few as fellow Forum members will attest), but I'm intrigued to know how you can see missing teeth that are in fact not missing?

Got a Question: Why did you buy the Specific bike you bought?

During the pandemic so no test rides and (as I discovered), mostly no bikes. So my old one sold very quickly and for more than I thought possible. I wanted more travel than my previous bike (tick), I wanted a bigger battery (tick). I wanted a bike that had five-star reviews everywhere I looked...
