Thats a bit of an artificial test. Afterall, when do you do that on the trail? I'm certain that I could make that noise with the rear hub on my muscle bike.
I have an EP8 and although I have never tried your test, it is mostly quiet and without any troublesome noises. Yes, if I coast across...
@VWV might be a student with a project to complete. The question will be part of the research that probably hasn't come up with much so far.
By the way: Welcome to the forum @VWV :)
How has the elastomer shock stood the test of time. Many rubber-like products fail after too much sunlight or just from the passage of time. They go sticky or brittle.
On Wednesday @johnc and I went to Cotic Bikes in Chesterfield UK. My son-in-law lives in the South of France and had bought an ex-demo Flaremax and he'd asked me to collect and store it for him until he could pick it up in January.
A few slogans:
# "The feel of steel".
# "Steel is real".
Here...
Enabling/disabling the clutch.
Pull the lower mech arm towards the front ring and take note of how stiff/easy it is to do so.
Move the lever the other way and repeat.
Compare the two. The one that gives the stiffest movement is with the clutch ON.
You may prefer the clutch OFF as it gives...
I had a similar problem with Shimano set up on my Focus Jam2. It was the charger that was the problem. Whenever the battery and charger were below 10degC, the charger refused to charge. If I kept the charger in the house, problem solved. But during the process of discovering what the problem...
That bolt that clamps the lever to the bar: Can the faces of the lever and the faces of the clamp be modified so that the whole lever can be tilted towards the bar? Obvious need for care, but surely possible if all else fails?
Oh you noticed?
Locations like 80516 or "UT" may mean something to any Brits that might have watched "Beverly Hills 90210" on the TV, or travelled to USA and seen the bewildering variety of abbreviations for the individual states. I'm not just having a mild go at Americans, because many Brits...
Report after today's session.
We did half the red and no trail debris evident, then we went off-piste in the Sherwood Pines area. Some minor debris but nothing that required clearance. Then we rode over into the National Coal Board area. Bloody hell! Fallen trees everywhere, big ones!
Pause: I...
I use Silicon shine, see the results on my wheel rims.
Rims after the usual bike wash procedure. Then same session, after the application by cloth of the silicon shine.
Have no fear! :D We can always turn round.
I haven't been "majorly off-piste" for about a month now, so I have no idea what I'll find when I do. There have been several gales since I was last there. It seems to me that nobody else clears up after the gales bring down trees or drop branches...
@Oldcreaky Sorry to hear of your devastating news.
I wish you well with your remaining time. :)
I know you said no to eBay, but did you know that they are no longer charging sellers fees?
The only other place that I have sold bikes is PinkBike Classifieds. I don't like it because it is...
He is surely referring to the triangular shaped black object (a bag of some kind) positioned at the intersection of the top tube, down tube and head tube.
It looks a bit like it could be a spare saddle (in some twisted and fevered nightmare).
When I read "auto down and up dropper post" I thought you meant some GPS triggered device that would drop at the top of a hill, and rise at the bottom. I was composing a response in my head when I actually read your post. I now believe that you mean that you want to be able to trigger a down as...
In April 2013 a large bunch of mtb riders (22-25) from the MBR Forum (now defunct) met to ride at Cleve Hill on the outskirts of Cheltenham. The objective was to recognise the recovery from a serious and life-threatening illness of one of our number, TAZ (rufty-tufty ex special forces). Unknown...
