Change guide adjusting and a nice upgrade

1x drives with narrow-wide teeth on the ring, were designed to not need a chain guide! I bought a YT Capra that had an e13 chain guide. What a friggin' nuisance that was! The chain kept jamming in the guide and damaging the frame, so I took it off after two weeks and sold it. I never had a...

    Shimano Ep6/ep801 replacements

Is this a warranty claim? 4 months without your bike is awful! If you stick with the EP6, then demand that you get the extra 4 months added to your warranty period. If the problem of delay is restricted to the EP6 motor, then maybe an EP8 could be supplied instead. I believe that the EP801 may...

    What sealant for E bike

Continental Revo Sealant. I bought it to go with new Conti tyres. The sealant has no ammonia in it which can react with the components of the tyre. Those Conti tyres are gone long ago, but the Conti Revo does a great job for me on my Maxxis and WTB tyres, so I'm still using it.

    Hi from Brisbane Australia.

@Uphill Battle Read the various threads on the Amflow before making a decision. Pretty much any full power emtb with 150-160 suspension and a battery of at least 625 w-hrs will do the job. The go-to torque is now 85 Nm as a minimum. In my riding kit, with backpack, at 94kg, I on the...

    Hi from Brisbane Australia.

Many of the gates that I have come across have been locked! Those kissing gates and tall "climb over steps" (made up that name) are also tricky. Edit: just remembered the word I was looking for - "stile" :giggle:

    Hi from Brisbane Australia.

I've been thinking some more about my post#3 above. When I said at least 160/150 travel, I was trying to summarise a consensus of what I have read on here. Many have more, but the geometry is slacker and that has consequences that you may not like for your first emtb. For your first emtb...

I consulted the Urban Dictionary for a good definition of "Lost my cherry". It has never failed me before, but I got this: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Sorry, we couldn't find: lost my cherry So, I tried "popped my cherry" instead. If I cut and paste the content, I believe that the Sheriff will not like it at...

    i need all help

Translation from Romanian: Hello, I am facing this problem with my bike, a haibike seven full 2019. I had a problem, the flash where it says interval and displacement and odo. I changed the sensor, I put everything as it should be but it still blinks.. I tried all kinds of solutions but without...

    Hi from Brisbane Australia.

Welcome to the Forum! For starters get a full suss, and NOT a hardtail. Yes, I know they are cheaper, but hardtail ebikes ride differently to ordinary HTs. This forum has many posts from riders selling their HTs because they couldn't get on with them. Consider 160mm front suspension and 150mm...

    E-Bike Insurance.

I have just been renewing my house and contents policy and if I want the bike on my policy, they will give new for old but with a maximum of £5000. If my bike was brand new and got stolen, then £5k would not be enough, but seeing as it's more than two years old £5k is a bargain! :) Next year...

    Raymon trailray.. worth a punt?

Don't get a used one unless you know and trust the seller, or you know what you are doing. There is a lot of advice on here on what evidence to look for about a used ebike. PS: Welcome to the Forum! :)

Wow, that brings back memories!! I lived in Bradford and I was somewhere between 8 and 10 (1959-1961). I had a steel bike with Sturmey Archer 3-speed gears. It had brakes operated by steel linkages; I think they might have been called rod-brakes, but I'm not sure. The bike even had steel...

What did you buy your ebike this week?

I bought a waterproof jacket for my grandson's commute. Altura Nevis waterproof jacket down from £60 to £19.99. Still en-route! https://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/clothing/jackets/altura-classic-nevis-waterproof-jacket-red__410655 Edit: Added 6th Dec'24. The jacket arrived a day or so ago. It...

My mum had to have all her teeth out when she was pregnant with me. Apparently, her body prioritised my need for calcium above hers. Her diet might have been a bit lacking; the UK was still being rationed at the time! The good old days heh?

You should consider taking more care of yourself. You are not getting any younger! Trouble is that you will then feel older! However, I confess to a vague feeling of satisfaction when my non-riding acquaintances ask after my health when I'm hobbling about, or when the osteopath is raising an...

SRAM T-type cassette worn out after 940 miles

I doubt by "use to destruction" that the SRAM guy meant breaking into bits, but "no longer usable, or getting close". If that is indeed what the SRAM guy said. You should check that for yourself.
