Unfortunately it’s a little more than hike a bike on the trail huge tree completely blocked it
I never thought that would be rideable after storm arwen whole area was destroyed about 6 trails
But amazing that they cleared and reopened one of them only for weekend storm to bring more trees down 🫣 and undo their work. Hope it doesn’t stop them in future

Forestry were there clearing trees across the fireroads and did give me a look when I pulled up 😂😂
but didn’t say anything
One of my local trails took a battering with water in July. Only 30 mtrs but barriers in place and no sign of repairs happening. Folk are walking up and down it now and odd cyclist. Still loads of trees down from Arwen just cleared the roads they have to for access. Ongoing

They’ve already deforested loads of thrunton due to Arwen but that’s ending now with what’s left being left to regenerate itself
No officialish trails there (well one or two) maintained by trail Builders. Everything is natural so if trees fall trails get wrecked then That’s how they’ll stay.
i Think most of it will go eventually as every storm bring down more trees there

17.44 miles & 2524 ft ascent today according to Wayne's figures ..only one pic ..this one of Alan from Morpeth , Northumberland who appeared from nowhere as we were waiting for a digger to let us past at the bottom of Purdom Plunge ..and as he was riding solo he joined us for the remainder of the ride ( Kielder) ..
Good rider ..in our age group and seemed interested in joining the forum ..
Nice bit of playtime riding mainly in emtb mode with a little bit of turbo ..great fun 👍🏻

I came across an old pic of the boys a few years back @philmedomsley @Tonybro @timberjack and not forgetting @The Hodge at the Pigdon
( small Northumberland village west of Morpeth) Pork pie/Black Forest Gateaux eating dualathalon ride, Also known as the “sweet and savoury”before we discovered the health benefits of being able to ride up gnarly trails on our electric mobility mountain bikes 😂 0b08113e-36ef-49b4-bbfc-d56a28971b5a.jpeg

@The EMF you said you wouldn't take one of me from the back (#27) showing my two arses, I'll get you back for that! :ROFLMAO:
You're mistaken Tony ..I know time & our now perfect bods can confuse the way we used to look ..but Wayne has already said that No.27 is myself ( apparently ) ...you're the geek to the left of me ..( the intelligent looking lad with the bins on ) 😉😂

That is not a good advert for the joys of MTB.
I much prefer this one:

In April 2013 a large bunch of mtb riders (22-25) from the MBR Forum (now defunct) met to ride at Cleve Hill on the outskirts of Cheltenham. The objective was to recognise the recovery from a serious and life-threatening illness of one of our number, TAZ (rufty-tufty ex special forces). Unknown to him we turned up all wearing pink tee-shirts (we made him wear one as well). We chose pink because he was ex royal Marines and SBS and we thought it was probably a colour he had never worn before. (We were correct!)
(Note: The SBS are a bit like the SAS. They do everything the SAS do, but wearing a wet suit and flippers!)
The tee shirt:

I still have mine! :ROFLMAO:

After our ride we turned up at our overnight place, a very nice pub overlooking the city of Cheltenham. The pub had a terraced garden and the whole site was on a steep slope. It was full of large picnic tables with parasols, and bench seats. It was a sunny day and it was crowded: families, kids, pets, buggies etc. Whoever was in the front of our group rode down a steep grassy slope and straight in amongst the crowd and proceeded to slowly weave in and out, skillfully avoiding everyone and everything until we got to the far side where we dismounted. I am certain that if we hadn't been wearing pink tee-shirts and obviously on a fund raiser we would have been shouted down, lynched, whatever. Despite several people having to shuffle out of the way, there was not a single raised voice of protest. Don't you just love the power of pink!

My apologies, but I cannot find a single photo from that event, but it was featured in the MBR magazine the next month. (That would have been May'13).

Edit 50 mins later: I found one! Here is Taz on the left.
