Here again. Brilliant day to ride at the pump track, but quite breathtaking.

The only kite I’ve got is a big plump thing that sits below me tits and above me katangers…….
My kite days are over. Great memories for the kids though. Stunt kites, buggies, trains and kite surfing. Trees and power lines are a problem now. 😣

Took the Great Whyte out this morning in what I thought was going to be a break in the pissing down rain,( was for a short while )but still blowing a hooley. The EMTB and Turbo modes took care of the strong Northerlies.
First stop Cambois Rowing club, newly installed jetty thanks to a lottery grant. A man is sweeping the river to clear said jetty of debris washed down the Wanny ( River Wansbeck ) and the river is running full after persistent rain.
IMG_9052.jpeg IMG_9053.jpeg
Nice little trail through the trees before my next stop
IMG_9057.jpeg
The Dam across the Wanny overflowing, don’t see that very often.
IMG_9056.jpeg IMG_9055.jpeg IMG_9054.jpeg
Next stop the headland above the Needles Eye. High tide plus northerly winds combine to make a choppy sea. IMG_9061.jpeg IMG_9060.jpeg IMG_9059.jpeg
I got caught in a few savage heavy rain/hail showers but love to see an angry sea.
By the time I got home the rain had stopped to give me just enough time to hose and towel the bike off, GT 85 the drive train and stick it back in the shed.
No Palm Trees here @steve_sordy either 😆.
Certainly blew the cobwebs off, showered and grear in the washer I feel fantastic, loved the ride.

If you stay on the ashganistan side and head onto the spine road cycle path from the river
have you seen that rock just before you leave the woods with the world war 2 fighter plane carvings type things on

I have, years ago when the rocks were laid by the council there were brass model replicas of the planes (that you have shown the imprints off) from WW II
Needless to say being in Ashganistan they only lasted the weekend after they were revealed……shame.
The stone is at the end of the trail through the woods in my recent post.

Getting to that time of year again hike a bike over a few trees.
Unfortunately it’s a little more than hike a bike on the trail huge tree completely blocked it
I never thought that would be rideable after storm arwen whole area was destroyed about 6 trails
But amazing that they cleared and reopened one of them only for weekend storm to bring more trees down 🫣 and undo their work. Hope it doesn’t stop them in future

Forestry were there clearing trees across the fireroads and did give me a look when I pulled up 😂😂
but didn’t say anything
