My kite days are over. Great memories for the kids though. Stunt kites, buggies, trains and kite surfing. Trees and power lines are a problem now.The only kite I’ve got is a big plump thing that sits below me tits and above me katangers…….
Palm trees! That can't be Finland!
Remember the song from school actually Wayne ,Way down along the Wanny river.Took the Great Whyte out this morning in what I thought was going to be a break in the pissing down rain,( was for a short while )but still blowing a hooley. The EMTB and Turbo modes took care of the strong Northerlies.
First stop Cambois Rowing club, newly installed jetty thanks to a lottery grant. A man is sweeping the river to clear said jetty of debris washed down the Wanny ( River Wansbeck ) and the river is running full after persistent rain.

Nice little trail through the trees before my next stop

The Dam across the Wanny overflowing, don’t see that very often.

Next stop the headland above the Needles Eye. High tide plus northerly winds combine to make a choppy sea. View attachment 151470 View attachment 151471 View attachment 151472
I got caught in a few savage heavy rain/hail showers but love to see an angry sea.
By the time I got home the rain had stopped to give me just enough time to hose and towel the bike off, GT 85 the drive train and stick it back in the shed.
No Palm Trees here @steve_sordy either .
Certainly blew the cobwebs off, showered and grear in the washer I feel fantastic, loved the ride.
Isn‘t that slot in the middle of the saddle not a little bit disadvantageous in winters time?
If you stay on the ashganistan side and head onto the spine road cycle path from the riverTook the Great Whyte out this morning in what I thought was going to be a break in the pissing down rain,( was for a short while )but still blowing a hooley. Just as well there isn't a well endowed male dog then ..eh ?Isn‘t that slot in the middle of the saddle not a little bit disadvantageous in winters time?

Ahhh makes sense then always wondered what they were, how they got there all that jazzI have, years ago when the rocks were laid by the council there were brass model replicas of the planes (that you have shown the imprints off) from WW II
Needless to say being in Ashganistan they only lasted the weekend after they were revealed……shame.
The stone is at the end of the trail through the woods in my recent post.
Don't remember ever getting a new bike in winter I could be wrong though. You would get it dirty pretty quick. Like the first scratch I suppose. Enjoy.
Are you staying there, or are you there for travel?Nope, in Finland we have now snow covered spruces, that’s why I’m in Spain right now.
