Oh and just another question - I have seen some reports that there's retail outlets for Bulls emtbs around NZ - has anyone actually ever seen one in a store? They look like an interesting bike potentially but with the general lack of information, a test ride would definitely be needed.
One thing I have found helpful on some climbs is to lower the saddle by about 1inch. Normally I would keep it high on a climb for maximum leg power... but with the power of the motor I can drop the saddle, which allows me to move my weight much more easily while maintaining power. It also makes...
Oh right!! Wow. Maybe I'll have a look at the end of this year, when next years models are released and swap over just before the move. As @RAZOR said, the rumoured 140 might help me out!
Excellent, thanks Razor!! Great tips. I'm the same re jumps, so I think the 120 rear should be sweet. Look forward to hearing how the trip to the Coromandel goes! Those videos are making me want to move now!!!
Yeah cool. I think I’ll take the current bike with me, and try it out for a while. I just wonder if for the cost of transporting it, it’s not worth selling and buying something new? But maybe I’m just scratching for an excuse to buy a new bike ?
Hi all,
Currently living in Aus, but am moving back to NZ at the end of the year. The plan is currently Auckland, although there is a slim chance I'll up in Wellington. My family are from Napier and I used to live in Dunedin, so I have never ridden in the Auckland region. From what I can see...
Depends on whether you think the E model parts are actually an upgrade - just my opinion, but I wouldn’t want electronic shifting or a reverb... Buuuttt, the black and gold colour scheme is hard to say no to ?
I thought your original poll was helpful - just encouraging newbies to consider their current needs v future needs given they may prgress faster than expected.
I suppose when I said “drag” I was more meaning regarding geo than anything - as @R120 mentioned - given longer travel bikes are *generally* slacker etc.
But like you said - you can ride DH and especially enduro on nearly any decent quality modern MTB. And that was my point - I think people get...
Plus you’re assuming the super long travel bikes are the only bikes that are capable for enduro riding! Definitely not true. My Merida is 160/120 and I regularly ride all the most techy diwnhill trails in my area. The short travel rear end makes for a super engaging ride. It‘s also a heap of fun...
The only real change I’ve noticed from the higher BB is that i’m not hitting the motor on things anymore and I have a few less pedal strikes - which is great!! The overall A2C of these forks was only about 1cm more than the old revelations, as they were a 29er fork and these are 27.5. Probably...
That’s awesome. I’ve started parking at the Yuelahbar carpark, warming up on DeLuge, over to the bus stop track at Dudley, then the DH track down to the Scout Camp. From there it’s easy to shoot over to the main section and hit the DH runs, or XC loop. I did 40km in there the other day - best ride!!
Excellent, your conditions sound very similar to mine - mainly loose over hard pack or dust! Great to hear. I might have to try and find some to order now.
