@vertrkr, good eye, Lime Ridge at the bench. @JP-NZ, the 2022 9.8 XT did come with the bottle cage, however the 2021 9.7 did not.

@Rob, how did you get your Fox forks to fit with the 1.8 steer tube? My Fox 38’s are 1.5. I was told Fox doesn’t have a 1.8 available yet.

Picked up mine today 2022 Trek 9.8 XT size XL, I upgraded the rims to carbon Line Pro 30, suspension mods next. I went for a small ride today. I do like it better than the 2021 9.7 I had.

Just an FYI, as of today Big Bowl Bike Shop in Petaluma California has 2022 Trek 9.8 XT’s in sock. L&XL Black Sparkly paint. I’m NOT affiliated, just thought I’d pass on some info. (Edit to add NOT affiliated)

Mine was just a bit over $2600 for the complete package, installed. Factory Fox 38 w/Smashpot coil conversion Ohlins TTX22M Both ends custom revalved for my weight 250+ made a huge difference on a '21 9.7 Rail Now waiting for the '22 to come in...fingers crossed, it's supposed to ship today.

How dose it differ on the trail from the bike you did the ride report on? Are the characteristics improved with the suspension? I have the same suspension sitting on my shelf waiting for my new bike to come in. Supposed to ship next Tuesday (2/8/22) Did you by chance ever ride an XL?

I had a Bullit, I loved the chassis and handling but found the EP8 motor weak compared to the Bosch. For me the ultimate bike would be a Bullit with a Bosch motor….that would be a kick ass bike.

In the US, the dealer ordered it in September for inventory.

My ‘22 Rail 9.8 XT was supposed to ship on Jan 18, just got pushed back to Feb 8. Dealer said they were waiting on components to complete the order.

Had a ‘21 9.7 Ordered a ‘22 9.8 XT today Can’t wait!
