Make sure you get the special tool to tighten the front sprocket lock nut. They are known to come loose on Bosch motors. Also keep and eye on your cranks if they are E-13
The motors themselves can last thousands of miles.
Here’s how the cables are routed. Can be done but not super easy

I’m in the process of doing this. The internal wiring was a total bitch. I had to strip the outer rubber housing off the cable for it to fit through the narrow internal wiring/cable tunnels located in the lower down tube.
Pull your battery and look with a flashlight…it’s a bitch. Definitely...
E13 cranks & Bosch
My LH crank arm fell off while riding a very steep downhill. This resulted the motor drive tearing the back of my leg open = trip to the ER and stitches
Definitely keep an eye on your crank bolts. I’ve heard of many issues with the buttery soft E13 cranks. Apparently an...
You lost me on the 8.5 x 2.5. If those are inches…that shock is nowhere near the stock size.
Stick with 230 length, you can over stroke out to 65mm with the Mino link in high.
Most seem to run 230x60 or 230x62.5 without any issues.
Call Mike at Full Flow Suspensions in Auburn CA. He’s familiar...
I’m larger guy too, I’d get something with a Bosch motor. They seem to work better for heavier riders. Having had a Trek Rail with a Bosch motor and now a Norco Range Vlt with a Shimano EP8, the Bosch motor bike performed noticeably better for me, especially on climbs. Get the biggest battery...
FSA sells the crown race adapters now to convert the 1.8 headset to a 1.5 fork, they are like $5
You can run any 1.5 tapered fork in the big headset bearing.
I’m not familiar enough with SRAM stuff to give you an educated opinion…I do know ebikes eat drivetrains way faster than analog bikes, so I’d prob go for the higher quality stuff. The battery is huge…you’ll blow through a 500w battery quick, especially if you’re doing some climbing. Big dudes...
I started down the ebike rabbit hole last year. I’m 6’2” 240 lbs…was 275 when I started.
Here’s what I learned:
For heavier riders, pick a suspension design that has a lower leverage ratio. My first bike was an Intense and I was unable to get the rear suspension set for my weight due to the...
Yeah, I maxed out everything on E-TUBE. Just the nature of the EP8 motor, the Bosch flat out destroyed it on climbs. The EP8 requires much more rider effort to achieve the same level of performance. My son rides a Rail 7 had now he leaves me in the dust. When I had my last Rail, we were evenly...
i did change the tires and add cushcore to the rear. I found the Assegai’s had more rolling resistance than the Schwalbe’s.
This is my 6th Ebike, my last being a Trek Rail. I sure miss that Bosch motor, it would absolutely destroy this EP8.
