Had some of the planned upgrades arrive today:
Nobl TR41 mullet wheelset with Industry Nine 1/1 hubs
Michelin E-Wild tires
Oh and not a bike upgrade, but a safety upgrade I bought a Smith Mainline helmet with Smith goggles with their Chromapop lens. Helmet feels super secure and safe, and the...
I had one this summer - I was doing a new build on a non-ebike and was installing the XT cassette. I was tightening the lockring that holds the cassette on and was using a Amazon-sourced torque wrench. Unfortunately that torque wrench was crap and I ended up overtightening it which wrecked the...
I was able to get a Decoy Shred in Canada in just over one week. Surprised me, but I suspect it is because people are waiting for the new Decoys to drop. I would actually recommend emailing them. The guy I dealt with - Shaun - was in California and he was very responsive and helpful.
As a new Decoy owner, this provides exactly the confirmation bias my brain/wallet needs to help justify the drop in the bank account :ROFLMAO:. Will be interesting to see what is announced tomorrow from YT!
Awesome review. You don't hear a lot about the Rocky's in eMTB circles so this is nice to see a good review. You have a few years on me, but your reasoning for going the ebike route is similar to mine - climb up more times for more downhills, while still being able to walk the rest of the week...
Awesome @CraigerC EMTB . Yeah I was pretty nervous going in - I have installed brakes before, but never on a eBike and the the thing I was most nervous about was the cable routing. In the end it was not bad at all and it is just like any bike. Just go slow and don't pull on the cable too much...
Can confirm - just ordered 29 front and 27.5 rear from them for delivery to Canada. Like @Kernow said, really good pricing too, even once I added shipping to Canada. I'll probably need to pay duty, but even then the price is really good.
Thanks @leftside - I'm in Calgary. The team at Nobl are great. Was debating between those and We Are One to try something different, but since I was a repeat customer at Nobl I got a bit of a price break which made the decision easy (expensive sport right!). That must mean you are in Fraser...
I am going to sound like my Granddad now, but my first new car I bought after I got my first job was the equivalent of £12,000.
On another note, if you sign up for Muc-Off's newsletter you can get 15% off your first order :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Thanks! Yeah really looking forward to the wheels! I have had Nobl wheels on my last analog bike and they were amazing.
Will do on the tire - I know you like those e-wilds so I have been trying to find them to do a swap . I am having trouble finding the 27's here in Canada. Seems we can...
Decoy Shred in medium came in and it has been an awesome couple of weeks setting it up (taking my time!). Have done a few upgrades so far. Here is what I have changed out:
Completed Upgrades:
Race Face Turbine R 35 Stem Orange, 50mm Length
OneUp Carbon Handlebar 20mm rise
Wolf Tooth Dropper...
Happy to report that I was able to successfully swap out the Sram Code Rs for the Saints. Front was obviously easy. Rear took a bit more work but in the end was not too back.
Did not swap out the rotors yet as I am waiting for my new wheelset to come in. When I get those I will put the 203mm...
I chose this one (I am in Canada so not sure what is available over the pond) - a few comments saying it handles the weight ok. I typically remove the battery when I put mine in the stand just to lighten it a bit. I'll let you know how it works as it should arrive tomorrow.
This is a great idea - I get worried about using the dropper post to attach to my stand with the weight of these bikes. Just ordered a cross bar from Amazon to use with my stand! Thanks for the idea.
Another question for anyone who has changed the rotors - did you need to buy new adapters when going to the 203mm Ice-Tech rotors (when switching from the 200mm sram rotors)?
