Sounds good to me.
Keep us informed of your journey. Exciting times.
Would you be intending for owners to do their own servicing or do you have something else in mind?
Hi there.
Well done for taking this on. I live in Brisbane too, so especially keen to see you succeed!
Happy to be a Customer too if all works out.
I would already own an eMTB if I thought the Specialized Levo was good value for money at A$7600.
If it helps, one of the Brisbane bike shops...
To the best of my searching abilities, there is no Lapierre Ezesty dealer in Australia. And no reply from the contact page at www.lapierre-bikes.co.uk
Any tips for how I would purchase one and get it here?
Make contact with an overseas dealer in the UK or elsewhere?
Thanks.
With little experience it's hard to know. But I suspect rider to bike fit would be just as important on a MTB (electric or otherwise) climbing and descending than the road bikes where there seems to be automatic acceptance of a detailed fit up for frame size before purchase.
I've even tried...
Not that it is a big concern, but the eMTB that I had my eye on at the LBS has been sold. On a positive note, it gives me more time to do some research.
One of the reasons that I didn't jump on the Jam2 was a lingering question over frame size. A demo ride wasn't available on that particular...
I'm not sure about rock gardens. But I think there would be real skill, and satisfaction to be gained, in scaling something next week that I couldn't do last week.
I'm also thinking of taking an MTB skills course. If there is such a thing in my area.
Years ago I did a motorbike trials course...
HI again all.
In my usual fashion, I've just about researched myself to a standstill about if/when/what eMTB to buy. I had 99% decided on the JAM2 6.8 Plus that is on sale at my local bike shop in frame size XL.
Previously, I decided I would ride the bike to work 2-3 times per week and go...
Anyone removing the chain to help get the rear wheel out?
The Connex Links seem to get good reviews from the road going fraternity - may not be appropriate for eMTB use though:

Hi all.
I still haven't purchased an eMTB yet. And after taking a walk in a local state forest today to do some reconaisance , I think I'd enjoy technical climbs and fast decents maybe even more than the trails I had in mind!
But I will need to transport a bike to ride anywhere. And I'd...
I was always rubbish at, but I flew remote controlled helicopters for a few years a good few years ago.
In search of better energy density, many with deep pockets were using flight packs comprising Lithium-Polymer batteries. Special care was required. Others, including me, were assembling...
It is the best value around here at the moment, and I'm sure it will be a good thing.
Just need to put a few more days between my 20th wedding anniversary and making a A$6000 purchase :)
The rear derailleur is not Di2. But there is a Di2 junction box under the head stem - 2 ports are used (for the motor mode change buttons?) with 2 spare. I presume the spares could for a Di2 rear derailleur later?
I appreciate the comments about the Shimano motor.
My local bike shop is having a sale on the JAM2 with Shimano motor. I've pretty much researched myself to a standstill on this bike to conclude it would suit me and my current trail riding expectations.
I visited the shop this morning to ask my last remaining questions. All was going great...
Thanks for all the replies. Much appreciated.
All going to plan, I'll be a JAM2 6.8 Plus owner soon.
I can't take the 6.8 Plus for a decent test ride, so I've hired a Norco bike with the E8000 to get a feel for the Shimano motor. My only other experience to date has been with a Brose motor.
Wow! The TEC pack is a little bit on the fugly side. I thought it would look just like a water bottle rather than an obelisk. Sheesh. Best used in the dark.
