I was was wondering same thing. My EP8 motor has same update available. I'll go ahead and update but it would be nice to know what it's actually doing. Shimano could take some lessons from Apple and Android about including more details about firmware updates.
I have the identical bike as yours. Great bike...I have One Up pedals on mine and with a pair of 5/10s your feet aren't moving. I highly recommend an Invisiframe kit for your bike.
My Heckler had one in the bag with owners manuals but was not installed (also had SC wheel reflective stickers). Derailleur is adjusted properly so I see no need to install dork disc.
Nice! I recommend you pick up a sm-pce02 pc interface to do firmware updates and any troubleshooting. Using your phone Bluetooth is risky. I bricked a component on mine that way...got it restored using the pc device.
Here's a couple pics of mine...

Like others, I clean mine after every ride. I enjoy cleaning and fussing with it. I do the same with my truck (no I don't wash it after every drive). An often overlooked benefit of regular cleaning is you find potential problems or issues before they become serious.
I have the same bike in gloss carbon. Been a lot of fun. First thing I did was put an Invisiframe kit on mine. I've added a few colored bits to mine but otherwise it's been trouble free and rides great....better than my capabilities. Hope you get yours soon.
Well in all fairness there are far fewer Santa Cruz ebikes out there than some other brands but I am quite happy with the design and quality of my bike. I would be really pissed to own an expensive ebike with some of the issues that others have endured. The industry as a whole has some work to...
I wanted to start a new thread but I haven't gone thru several motors, had water ingress issues, needed more battery power, had any frame or component problems...so I don't know what to talk about!?!? ? I am really enjoying my 2021 SC Heckler. It's a joy to ride with or without the pedal assist...
Nice to see the tech trickling down to the GX Eagle stuff. I have GX on my bike now and like it. The price is still too high though. That's $765 US dollars and I can buy X01 AXS upgrade kit for $800
Just noticed price includes 23% VAT so if I didn't have to pay that it might be more reasonable.
For me it's nice knowing it's there. Long climbs and longer rides aren't something I try to avoid knowing I have assistance if needed. At 65 I can ride as long as I want and if I start to tire then I have some assistance so I'm not completely gassed at the end of the day.
I have used a Dremel to cut a groove in the head of a bolt damaged like that and then used a large blade screwdriver to remove the bolt after liberal use of 'Liquid Wrench' and possibly some heat around the hole in the linkage to breakdown any locktite and expand the hole slightly. You might be...
I must be in the minority...I actually enjoyed installing my Invisiframe kit on my SC Heckler. It looked great when I did the install on the bike in the living room but the next morning I saw some bubbles when the bike was in the sunshine. I got some of the bubbles out and did some small fine...
Just curious...how much extra weight do all the lights, etc. required in the UK/EU add to the weight of the rack?? I'm not familiar with EU models but can you get a rack with smaller, more compact LED lights?
The vibration and movement from traveling (especially long trips) slowly wore through everything I tried to use for padding. Towels, rags, pieces of soft leather with plastic between the leather and rack arm, I couldn't find anything that was soft enough to protect the frame and not wear thru.
Nope...I'll never own another bike rack that uses arms that contact the frame. No matter how hard I tried using different kinds of padding they all damage the paint on the frame. I'll keep my Kuat 2.0 that only contacts the tires of my bike. We are full time RV'ers and travel thousands of miles...
