It’s still in the bike, haven’t had a chance to swap yet. I’m supposed to send it back, but part of me wants to pull it apart and see if I can tell what went wrong. It has worked fine the last few rides which is strange.
I have a new Commencal Meta and the motor was already having some issues, so got this one from warranty. The one currently in my Meta has seemed to “fixed itself” and hasn’t given me any issues for a few rides, so as long as Shimano doesn’t threaten to charge me for this motor if I don’t send it...
I've done two battery rides on my Decoy but always looped back to the cars to swap batteries. Or at the very least try to find a local spot to stash it at the bottom of the trails so I don't have to carry it on my back.
For the fox transfer have you tried loosening the seat collar clamp a bit? I know sometimes they act like you are describing if the clamp is way too tight.
I’ve found that the range when in trail and boost modes sucks on EP8. It’s less than a similar rider on a 500wh Levo in my experience. But when going slowly it can be much better. I did this ride mostly in eco and finished with 2 bars left. That’s nearly 2000m of steep climbing. But to be fair...
Anyone get a second battery for their Commencal yet? I’m hoping to pick one up sooner than later for times when I travel to a location and want to ride until I’m tired and not when my battery runs out.
To be fair, in your case once the newer model of those bikes came out yours would have dropped significantly in value. For my case the Megatower I recently sold is still SC’s latest long travel 29er.
Sold for $4500 cash with 2+ year old parts on it, and they buyer thought he was getting a great...
Lol, those are not good formulas right now.
Put the bike up for what you paid for it months (years) ago new and watch it sell. Used market in western US is so crazy. People can’t buy new bikes because they are completely sold out, and used bikes are in such high demand with all indoor...
Update: Shimano approved the warranty claim and said they should be shipping out a new motor within 7-10 days.
Don’t like that this happened in the first place, but seems like both Commencal and Shimano corrected the problem as soon as possible given the holidays and heavy back orders on...
Personally with ebikes I don’t think having less travel makes it better for xc type riding or more playful. It’s still just as heavy, and it will run out of travel sooner than a normal bike.
My decoy was an XL and slightly too big for my liking. Stock it only came with 140/150mm travel. The rear is really long and makes it turn like a boat. Yt suspension design was worse and bobbed/bounced when climbing seated.
