I was more than happy to do it myself. I don’t like other people working on my bike, and I also don’t like being without my bike for an extended period of time. Commencal had Shimano ship the motor to my doorstep, and asked nothing in return. I am able to swap the motor in less than an hour...
Different issue. When I turned my cranks, my chainring would not turn, therefore it could not be coming from the wheel. But glad you got your issue resolved.
Here is a thread with a bit more detail on what happened to me: Commencal MetaPower - EP8 motor issues - EMTB Forums
Since the seat tube is fairly steep, the reach doesn’t feel as big when sitting on the bike as it looks on paper. (At least compared to my other bikes). I think large would fit fine if you are comfortable with a big bike. But in my opinion, on ebikes I think it’s best to size down if you are on...
Not sure if it’s been said already, but the previous batteries will NOT fit in this bike. Pretty disappointing for the people who spent a lot of money on a 2nd battery.
I swapped out the stock bars for some Deity Brendog’s and this is how I routed the cable because I wasn’t willing to drill two holes in my bars. Made a few small loops and secured behind the dropper lever, and then secured the cable to the front side of the bar with a half-width piece of...
The cable that runs to my motor goes into the frame with the shifter cable housing. The cable the goes to the thumb switch goes straight into the hole in the bars. Neither are running under the stem.
Update:
Both Commencal and E*13's (In the USA) customer service has gone above and beyond to help my get my bike back together. Super quick responses, super helpful, and I believe my bike will be back up and running shortly.
But this should not happen in the first place... extra Loctite going...
I will file a formal warranty claim this afternoon when I'm home, but if there is an E*13 employee on these forums that can help expedite the process that would be awesome. Even if they do not want to provide a warranty replacement, at this point I just want to get my bike up and running again...
Hi all,
I recently had my E*13 crank arm fail on me and it needs to be replaced. My first thought was to get a Shimano one, but my local bike shop said they were on back order until late August. I have since reached out to E*13 and Commencal to see if they can be of any help, but not getting...
Update:
After contacting my local bike shop they said cranks for an EP8 motor from Shimano were on back order until late August at best.
Keep those bolts tight people!
