I went with EXT Era on the front at 160mm and EXT Storia V3 on the back with a Cascade link and firmer spring. I’m 6’2” and 92kg. The Cascade link lets you run a firmer spring without compromising travel/bottom-out. I don’t worry about the extra weight of coils as the bike has a motor. It’s very...
I use my Garmin Fenix for exactly this. You need to download an app called ebike nerd field (yes really) and it will link to your spesh and pull in cadence, power, battery level, assistance level etc.
I’ve got my Levo SL looking rather nice now. Trouble is my skills are badly lacking and I need to bring them up to the level of the blingy bits I’ve got on my bike.
I fancy some 1-1 tuition. Can anyone recommend someone in the Surrey Hills that can overcome my fear of jumps and teach me how to...
I use a Hero8. I am usually at 1080p wide, in a chest mount. I find this gives me the best balance for stabilisation and file sizes. I don’t worry about frame rate or ISO - I just let the camera sort that out.
I only record in short-ish bursts. Nobody wants to view 30 mins of a POV shot (unless...
I ride in northwest Scotland a lot and it can be very wet. I’m on a Levo SL. Never had a problem whatsoever, in the rain and riding trails that are more like rivers than singletrack.
That must be it then. I don't have an ebike version, I have a fat bastard version. Thanks for clearing that up and I apologise for misleading the collective.
The ebike specific EXT Storia has thicker spring collars and a solid rod within the hollow shaft for strength. Did you get the e-bike version @Rob? Bit tricky to tell from your photo. It’s worth checking.
Also, apparently the EXT fork is a thing of beauty.....
You need to plug the 3.5mm jack cable from the receiver into the GoPro which, for the Hero8, means you need the media mod. Not sure about the Max I'm afraid. There might be a 3rd party option for connecting an external mic.
I'm using a Rode Wireless Go II mic setup. This is a single receiver that plugs into the GoPro that has the Media Mod installed, and two transmitters. The transmitters clip onto anything, and have a wind muffler ("dead cat") that kills wind noise. The mic batteries last for 7 hours so I just...
Another one from north west Scotland for you. This is a cracking loop from Balmacara to the lovely seaside village of Plockton. It's mainly single track, fairly techie in parts, but otherwise just a gorgeous chilled out cross country tour through beautiful scenery.
Sometimes yes. It does take a bit of time, but I think it adds to the feel of it all which is what I’m trying to get across. I’ll usually have 3 cameras with me - a GoPro 8 on a chest mount, the drone, and a compact Fuji X100V with a teeny tripod that I can put up a tree or wherever.
