We had 2 inches of rain before breakfast today.
And then what seemed like an inch an hour all day. Old castles have now got their moats back, seriously! It was empty yesterday.
‘copper slip’ is working best for me. It’s like the daddy of all grease and seems to pretty much solve everything...
‘rowdy conditions often’.....?
yup!
I found that if my Main Pivot is torqued up and lubed then all is well. Mine creaked when the bearings had been run in ‘rowdy conditions’ and everything needed to come out and be refitted due to being FUBAR. I had to use some ‘rowdy’ techniques to get the...
You’ll be fine! 45 miles and 5000ft is doable in eco and occasional trail, 50 miles is entirely on the cards with that as well. I’ve lined up a 100miler that has perhaps 80% of it along river/canal trails and a climb and descent across the Pennines. It’s really just about your own fitness...
Yep, the taper lock is out and the Allen key is in the Main pivot axle. It winds out perhaps 3 or 4 turns perfectly (visible on both sides). It’s simply pushing the non drive side in and pushing the drive side out and on the non drive side it then interferes with the frame.
Still no joy. The whole axle turns and undoes the threads at each end (almost) and as it does so it doesn’t exit the frame.
It just pushes the drive side chain stay out and pulls the non drive side into the frame. So it gets tighter and tighter.
I’m not sure what it’s ‘sticking’ on the inside...
FB....I started to undo my main pivot to check the shims are in there (I can just make it creak under heavy side-to-side pedaling). But the main pivot just seems to pull the Swing arm into the frame/motor housing on the drive side as I undo it.
Does it extract from just one side? Should I be...
Good to know that you have the UK support. I wish they’d share some of the diagnosis with us. But alas, that won’t happen !
4 weeks is frustrating, but could be worse....
I‘m 5’11” and went XL....it’s perfect, almost same cockpit feel as my Spectral in Large. A large Decoy would feel short on reach to me given current bike geometry.
and don’t hesitate, the Pro Race is a very good bike. The battery genuinely is better than the standard Shimano battery. You just...
So there we go, after a little C19 related delay it is up and running.
A big step in taking YT customer service in the right direction.
Who is going to use it first? What have you taken your bike in for?
Anyone found a way to keep the chain stay rubber protector stuck on at the edge nearest the chain ring? Both Decoys I have had it has come unstuck from the thin double sided tape that is factory fitted and I’ve tried different tape and Gorilla Glue (works pretty good - but can get messy).
I...
Or......save your money, bleed the RSC’s and put some different pads in. They are superb, but always a little too ‘progressive’ straight out of the box.
on the other hand, unused RSC’s sell well to riders who get on with them!
A couple of mates just got a 14 day delay on their Canyon Spectral:ON’s earlier this week shortly after the ‘In Picking’ notification, but the shipping from Germany looks like the new bikes will with them in the UK by Monday/Tuesday next week
.....why would you deny yourself a year of riding one? Check the new Shredition out!! Cool and bang on trend 38’s and a coil for more coolness, long travel suspension.....Be with you in August as well!
