What's been your buying experience on the forum?

I never said and indeed would not have expected the item to be mine until the monies were paid. But to me it was an acceptance of my offer without conditions. If someone else had already offered the same amount it would have been courtesy to say so. From the comments so far everyone seems to...

What's been your buying experience on the forum?

Interestingly or not as the case may be I've never ever asked anyone for a deposit on a bike or anything else. I've sold six or seven analogue bikes and several classic cars in the past. Always trusted the buyer and was never let down. I also kept everyone informed if someone got in first with...

What's been your buying experience on the forum?

I'd be interested in your experiences whether good, bad or indifferent. I ask as I've just had what I consider to be a pretty shit way of treating someone. I'll give you a flavour of what went on. As an aside I always play fair with anyone & expect the same in return. So as follows: 1) make an...

Rail (625Wh) "Cheap" wheels for Trek Rail

Thanks for the replies. I've looked at the Nukeproof Neutron & the Horizon . Seem fairly reasonably priced. I've just been looking at various sites to see if there are any reviews. Looking at DT Swiss wheels is next on the to do list.

Rail (625Wh) "Cheap" wheels for Trek Rail

My thoughts exactly. Spares would be good as I could just grab a set and take off rather than waste at least half a day faffing about with tyres.

Rail (625Wh) "Cheap" wheels for Trek Rail

Thanks for the replies but that's not what I asked. Not interested in these tyres are great or I should have tried harder. If you have a suggestion on WHEELS then that's great.

Rail (625Wh) "Cheap" wheels for Trek Rail

A bit of background. Sometimes these days I can't really be bothered driving for an hour or two getting wet & cold and then driving home again. It's an age thing. So I often just have a wee tootle around near home. It's mostly on track with some road. Sometimes I use my wifes bike (Still for...

    My Rail, Resting on Stuff

For those who know the Loch Pattack area the shoogly bridge is no more [If you don’t know the bridge see my pics in Aug. 2022] The aforesaid bridge has been replaced by something that would probably take a tank so any overweight bikers should be OK

    And that was that...

Some of the best mountaineering in the world in my neck of the woods. If you're into winter mountaineering/climbing then I would suggest The Ben ( Ben Nevis) in full on winter conditions might be entertaining for you. If not try the world class downhill track although better not from the top if...

    And that was that...

Can't wait for Winter. Dig out the crampons and the ice axes. Bugger all that mud, freezing cold rain and endless faff of cleaning. Brings back bad memories (very distant) of cross country running and hypothermia 🥶🥶changing in a muddy field. Mind you Winter mountaineering is usually the pits...

    My Rail, Resting on Stuff

The hazards of mountain biking number two. There are basically three ways of onward progress. 1) Cross the shoogly (VERY) bridge. Not advisable with a heavy E bike 2) There is a long section of signal track but it ends in a bog. No thanks 3) Cross the ford. Didn’t bike across as it’s loose...

Which part hits the ground first?

Being an extremely old git and a total wuss I tend to bimble along and try not to fall off. Due to total incompetence however I managed a total splat. Knee and elbow now not happy and daily dressings are required:mad:. New MIPS helmet didn’t get a scratch! So which parts do you find normally...
